6l80e drive shaft ?

I have a 6l80e from 09 G8 I wont to run a one piece driveshaft I have heard I could use a 400 bolt on yoke and have it machined to replace the 3 bolt flange looking for some input or a better idea thanks doug

Yea, but we've steered away from it (and probably done the same for others). Yes it can be done, and has been done, but I think the general cost and time involved makes most folks look for another source vehicle that came with the "normal" connector.

Its designed to bolt a regular driveshaft into a GTO with a tranny swap.

Running a Machined TH400 bolt-on yolk & a drive shaft with a incorporated HD slip yoke is the ticket, The Machining is simple, And you have the G8/Camaro Yolk to take to the machinist.

You could always use that driveshaft with slip yoke clinebarger posted and this flange http://www.driveshaftshop.com/drives...nger-05-06-gto.

This would be easier than converting your transmission from your 3 bolt flange to a slip yoke style to use a TH400 yoke or the 6l90e 1410 yoke.

They just don't want to!! You can Bolt the Yolk to a Lathe Flange, Then Dial indicate to get out the run-out.....Then go to town!!

I'm an amateur with a Bridgeport Lathe, But even I know how to do this.

Great find, Yes that would be easier! I would put a Dial Indicator on it to make sure there is No Run-Out. Not putting down their work at all, But anytime you use a aftermarket "Adaptor, Add-a-Piece" it needs to be checked.

grate info I like the idea of turning down the 400 yoke because its less parts, but the adapter looks easy

My driveshaft uses an adapter on the tranny that connects to the driveshaft via a Porsche CV joint.

Thanks. The driveshaft is supposed to be rated for 1000+ HP.

So they pretty much made it custom to the length you needed and added a standard type 1350 on the Diff. end?

Let me know how it goes if you do it before me and vise versa if I do it first. I'm either doing this adapter with the Denny's DS you posted, or the DS Hart_Rod had made, not sure yet, at least there is a few options.

Now if they made more than one stand alone 6L80E TCM controller ..I was bummed when I called Mast Motorsports that had this working with their PCM to find out they quit on it and don't offer it.

10-4 on the money tree $$$$$ this motor only makes 360 hp but it will be a daily driver and long trips with the airstream it has to be dependable

I got my 400 yoke back from the machine shop yesterday her are some pictures I found out you cant go to your normal machine shop you have to go to your local jesse james al the big shops wont to hit a home run on every job I hope this helps someone it cost me 45.00 for the yoke 60.00 for the machine work im not cheap I just didn't like using the extra part when using the adapter doug

I'm glad you found a competent machinist.

Reinstall the 3-bolt yolk with the Center Nut.

Cut off the Output Shaft flush with the Nut. A portable Band Saw does the Cleanest/Coolest Cut.

Install TH400 yolk & Nut. Test a U-Joint for a range of motion.

ive been tinkering with old cars and motorcycles since I was 9 that's almost 58 years of experience I shouldve known better than to go to a production shop but at the same time I knew I did not wont the adapter although im sure it works just fine a DA works grate but but perfect paint takes a stick the is in the details
