Agreed. I had to stop, though, after adding suspension and wheels and tires that it will undoubtedly need...About $3,500 after the purchase price, I'd guess.

Oh, and one tail light. I bet the King has one stashed for you in his pile of sweet stuff.

Next, motor, trans, interior, glass (maybe)....Big potential. Big wallet???
We're all crazy. But get it for the right price.

Re: New truck whats it worth?

I think $2,500 would be a fair price. but if someone REALLY liked the patina i would not think they were out of line paying $3,500 for it.

Re: New truck whats it worth?

$2k tops only because it has the cool aged look and only if it passed my inspection. If it was a BBW add another $500.

Cool truck for sure though.

Re: New truck whats it worth?

a non running vehicle ( car or truck ), i would pay 500,00 to 1000,00 ( and no more ) ..

if it was running that is another question BUT its missing alot of nic nac item(s) from the photo(s) that were shown ( plus not knowing at what else is missing once you get into it ), with that, that kinda adds up also ...

there are alot of cons w/ this one w/ very few pros to it. sorry to say =0/

One thing for sure, there are a lot of opinions out there.

I'm betting that there is a regional supply/demand thing going along with the body work/mechanical work individual diversity.

For me, it's just a matter of value. If you start with something good, you're better off. My last two have proven that. Bet I could
be in to my driver for about half of what I am if I'd only listened to myself.

Anyway, here's your pic turned:

Re: New truck whats it worth?

Man with all the rust repairs that I'm currently doing on my 66 I'd pay $3500-4000 for that truck all day long!! That truck up here in the rust belt would get that kind of money no problem. Think of all the hours that would be saved. Just my .02 cents worth....

Re: New truck whats it worth?

I would buy it if it really doesn't have any rust. my tk had dents everywhere even on the top of the cab and rust in the fenders/cab corners/rockers. also a little in the floors. the time it took me to straighten everything, no way would i do it again. If i had to pay somebody to do what i did it would be way to much $$$.

There's something to say about a rust free and straight short fleet. better deal's out there? Sure but you have to find them lol!

Re: New truck whats it worth?

Monte , not a bad truck ,but you missed my point, No rust, straight no dent's factory air ,short fleet bed is what i wanted to see at $1500.00 TO $2500.00 Oh , i am doing a truck like that too which is a BBW short fleet all red i have had since 1983. I paid $650.00 fot it but when it was all said and done the first time around i had $5500.00 in it. It was 283 with slight cam 4 speed saginaw, power steering and a new under dash ac. That was doing everything myself . Drove it 10 year's and now doing a frame up in progress. Yes i had to do all the rust issue's too, get's old!!!!

Re: New truck whats it worth?

No I don't think you will see one that fits those parameters exactly, I agree. If you did I think all of us on this forum would drive anywhere to get it. And no work is better than any work at all, but I've made these repairs, I know what's involved and I believe for the money there are trucks that are a better value, but that's all opinion. Patina may be worth it to him, just like it is to a lot of guys on here and you can't blame them. In any case I hope someone buys this truck, whatever the price and gets it out of the weeds.

Re: New truck whats it worth?

c/10 King, thats what cracks me up about what guys think other guys trucks are worth. They don't think about if it was theirs and how much they would want for it. The guys that are saying $1000 or less are smoking some good stuff evidently. Have they bought any rust free parts before. If the body is as clean as he says, its worth a heck of alot in parts. Factory AC Cab, doors, front clip, tailgate and a bed, go buy any of that without any rust and see what you pay. Guys are into the original paint patina trucks anymore, as you know. Engine and drivetrain is way cheaper to fix compared to rust. I wish it was closer to me, I'd have to do some hard thinking on it. I'm not saying its worth the $4000 but its not a piece of junk truck either. I bought rust free truck out of Montana for $1500, shipped here for $900. Tried to sell it complete but ended up parting it out completely and did great on it BECAUSE it was rust free

Re: New truck whats it worth?

I would see if you could get it out to look under it.
The aftermarket parts do not fit as well and original.

It looks to be a nice truck and that is his asking price.
offer him $2500 to $2700
the worst he can do is say NO!

Re: New truck whats it worth?

I bought my truck for 2k running and driving with the body in about the same condition. The guy who sold me the truck wanted 4k for it and I told him he was smokin the hookah pipe. Hit him with 1300 and see where you go from there. I agree with these guys no more than $2500, but in that condition I think you should try to get it for a little lower. That truck looks sweet! I would keep that rusted look and clear coat it!
