As mentioned, "competition" is good.

Re: Another piece of the puzzle showed up.
I don't bother with NOS stuff that is disposable like internal engine parts , spark plugs etc because I think that is just dumb, but I like the stuff you can see.

Re: Another piece of the puzzle showed up.
i search so much i find tons of NOS cheaper the new, and rebuild items myself. so thats why i go that route. plus i have no shame asking folks to take less then half what the want for items, like will you take $75 for a part that cost $225. im on a never pay retail kick, and search til my eyes lose focus, then do it again the next day and so on!!! plus this is a gift to someone and my second frame off and the plan was to be as NOS as i can. i really blame you guys for having such awesome builds i had to earn my "bones" to even be able to exchange PM's. so im just happy to have met you guys, ps its all your fault im such a NOS beast.

Re: Another piece of the puzzle showed up.
I hope we never created a beast, I have bought for my truck NOS: an aluminum grille and bezels, a radio, a dash clock, arm rests, tail lights and bezels, bumper guards, couple hubcaps, tail lights, license plate bracket etc.

Re: Another piece of the puzzle showed up.
voltage reg, horn relay, turn signal trim and lens,Y49 battery, dome lights, tail light lens, speaker, wiring harness, lok hubs, etc!!! its good for the hobby to find such awesome parts. my addiction is cheap nos... plus I don't spend money on most day to day crap,no car payment, I dont party or drink booze so I save a lot. I work 4miles from home so save on gas and my girlfriend helps with my parts list

Re: Another piece of the puzzle showed up.
I think part of the appeal for our era trucks is their simplicity. Basic hand tools, and you are good to go. No diagnostic equipment or computers needed.
Who knew that in order to procure quality parts, you'd have to really hone your computer chops in order to out-search a bunch of other NOS parts crazed truck guys from across the nation. Ha! The irony! |
