Re: Ready to paint ! What color poll

I've noticed blue trucks have been selling very well lately, along with the factory green you have above. In terms of resale, I would stay away from the yellow, small market, and if the black isn't perfect the buyers will see everything and ding you on price. Red really always does do well too.

Re: Ready to paint ! What color poll

You said it yourself....resale red. You plan to sell them? Everyone likes red. Black will show every blemish. The other two colors are awesome, but some won't like them. If you were keeping the trucks, I would pick something else.

Wow, I can't believe the green has that many votes. I love it but to me every other truck was that color. That's why I voted yellow. It's kinda refreshing. .......

Re: Ready to paint ! What color poll

Because of the leather color I choose BLACK. You say the body is straight enough, and a perfect black truck {DEEP & SHINEY} with a fine red pinstripe will bring the most money, IMHO. Now, If I was doing what you are doing but keeping a truck to drive daily... it would be blue and white or solid light green. I've owned a couple of black trucks and they just look dirty 5 min. after I wash them, probably because of my long gravel driveway. It's just to hard to keep it looking nice.

Don't go by that color of leather ,That's just some I've had for years under my bench waiting for the right project , I have accounts to buy anything I want , For those who don't know I bought a bunch of 67 short beds years ago when they were cheap as a retirement project to keep me busy and build some cool old school trucks and these are just 2 I'm working on .I have the time /tools/equipment/ability and space and a passel of builder trucks left to keep me going for years to come , I don't send anything out I build everything myself mechanics/suspension/paint and interior and source all my own parts and supplies ,Again it keeps me busy (and drives me crazy at times ) There are more to come I'm chasing parts now for trucks I won't touch for 2 years ...Here are a few pics from this last year . All I need now is more space and we're working on that now ...

No sense in waiting for it to go bad under the bench. Pair it with some white and spray it. Red and white trucks are sweet!

Thumbs up What Color To Paint Poll

I voted for RED but not that hideous light red with waaayyy too much yellow in it ! more like a fire truck red, deeper , more classic looking, maybe Chevrolet's own "Swifts Red" from the Advance Design series (I'm old too) .

My '69 C/10 is the stock dark green and I love it but for resale red does the trick best .

Nice to see you're keeping yourself busy and working hard .

Of those four, I vote for green. My truck is blue but I have liked the medium olive color since I was a kid. Maybe you should that.

Re: Ready to paint ! What color poll

Well... I didn't think the lt green would win. I'm really leaning towards the lt yellow and wanted to paint them both the same color to save on materials but we'll see how it works out. I'm going with

Lt green ,292/3 speed master shift/3.73 posi and Grumpy buckets/console/ Ash wood bed and a 2/4 drop ,Green tint glass

Lt yellow, 350 / Rock crusher Muncie 4 speed/ 3.73 posi /Grumpy buckets/console with Black walnut bed floor and a 3/5 drop ,tinted glass and a TON of chrome/polished stainless . .

If your needing bed wood call on GR8-68 It's really well done .

Lt green with green tint glass and wood bed!! Why not stain or tint the wood bed green also!! That would be cool and I've never seen one done that way. Take a Google tour of green wood stains.

Glad you decided on going with the poll results. I believe most people have already decided and ask just to see if a majority agree with their thoughts.
