the white was just Krylon primer, then the blue paint was Bright Blue interior paint for like a Chevelle/Camaro I bought off ebay.

Sent my truck off for exhaust today. 7 years in this should be running before Thanksgiving.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Looking good! I've laid several 1-stage lacquer paint jobs on my vehicles over the years. A nice, cool desert morning with no wind is still fairly easy to come by. The energy and ambition (and single stage lacquer, for that matter!) for that has pretty much departed, though.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
The last thing that I've done recently is start up my truck and drive it around the yard for a few minutes just to keep the seals and gaskets lubed up.
I've been too busy to do anything with my truck this year. Plus I've had some life altering circumstances happen this year that has drawn my attention away from my projects. Once my late granddaughters funeral is behind me I can move on with my projects.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
After thought post.
I have already begun collecting parts for my project including picking up a 2001 Suburban for the engine swap, a 72 blazer tank for the tank conversion, and a few odds and ends to make the swap easier.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
When they bolted on a rebuilt GM 12 Bolt rear-end at Tucson Differential, my '68 C/10 Stepside's Odo read 405,083. I was told to break it in by making runs of 15 - 20 miles, and letting the pumpkin cool down, and to change the 80-140 weight oil after 500 miles.
The other day, the Odo read 405,584 when I got home. So it's time to drop the cover, drain the gear oil, look for metal shavings, read the wear pattern, bolt the cover back on, and refill with fresh gear oil. Then I can cruise the freeways without let or hindrance.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Made more progress this weekend on the bucket seat swap. After finishing the console, my seat frames were done at the blasters so picked them up and was able to get some primer on them before the rain came back. Now need another dry half a day to get them painted and the bench out of my truck to start figuring out how to mount them.
