Re: ‘Herding Turds’ - Post em up when you dragged them in

It is that spooky time year. Who needs haunted houses when you could hunt trucks in creepy junkyards and back in the sticks with the tarp people Looks like that one had to get dragged out

Actually didn't get in trouble when I hauled this turd home. I thought for sure I'd be spending a few nights at the shop

Re: ‘Herding Turds’ - Post em up when you dragged them in

Man, I need a shop truck, parts runner, one that I can park on the court square and people back away from. You know, a junker. Well I pulled this one home from a fellow board member's stash. It is about 20 inches too long to suit my taste, and it sits about 5 inches taller than I like. Both are easy fixes. Inline 6, 3 ott, PS/PB. Generally a good old truck that has perfect paint. If I tear into it, I may put a build thread up. If I tweak it, you may see it in the before and after thread. Either way, I can't lose.

Flat bed looks to be added fairly recently in its life but it's kind of a Franken truck. It does have a spid, I'll get a pic tomorrow when I gut out the engine

Flat bed is nice besides the wood in it is rotted in a few areas and the cab was swapped with a 71 cheyenne K cab at some point in its life. The shop is a mess, I stink like old truck/engine and loved every minute of it. Running out of space so next time you visit I might be in that bigger shop

Pulled the clip and the engine/trans but then reassembled the clip to put in the back forty for a later date. We fought hard today the undo all the shade tree stuff they did to swap in the 427. It even had rebar welded to the engine towers that met the sawsall. I had a 71 133" wheel base dually that I traded for a farmall tractor and always missed that truck so it may get fixed up down the road.

Re: ‘Herding Turds’ - Post em up when you dragged them in

Just picked this one up for my current project. It is in pretty good shape considering it sat outside most of its life and has not run in almost 30 years. It was my wife's grandfather's truck. Had to evict some mice and vacuum up a few gallons of mouse **** but, seems to be good.

Too bad I didn't take pix of my '68 Skylark when I brought it home. Shredded vinyl top, bent bumpers, torn seats, big old dent in the right 1/4, and a bad trans. My wife hated it on sight.
