My wife occasionally mentions we need a little trailer to pull around the yard with the lawn tractor. I again tell her we already have one. It's called a 5x8' utility trailer. I have a hitch ball mounted on the tractor to move that trailer and the fishing boat around the yard. Works great!
I just finished up prepping the lawn care equipment for the season this morning, and storms coming in late today. Figures..

I had to gut the entire instrument panel and remove the dash top to weld the inner cowl section on the inside of the car.



Lots of short, stitch welds to prevent warping.

Cleaning up the area that the new shop is going . I really need to stack wood it’s all over the place . In the future I’ll be stacking in the car tent I’ll just take off both end walls to get ventilation

Wow that was all definitely a ton of work. Great job it turned out beautiful. I only replaced the dash top on this. The cowl was actually good. I did replace 2 sections of the cowl end on the passenger side, along with almost every piece of metal on the body.

Thanks, I hear ya on replacing most of the original sheet metal. I started with an AMD 1 piece trunk floor and moved to a left quarter skin and outer wheel house, right side, NOS, full quarter, NOS tail panel and AMD extension panel.
I have NOS front fenders too. Not much left of the original car and it spent it's life in CA.....unfortunately the SF coast.

Finally seam sealed and painted the dash/firewall in my kids Camaro.

The top of the cowl, inside and out, and the outer cowl gets painted white (body color).

That looks great. I had to replace the outer/inner cowl and dash top on mine over the past few months. I had NO idea the car had this much rot under the windshield and I've owned it for 15 years. It was all hidden under the glass and urethane sealer.





Bought a 1 piece outer/inner assembly from OER and it fit really well, for a repop. The cut is all hidden under the cowl grille when done.



Fitting the new dash top. It's all done now and ready for primer. I need to get a pic of that.

Made a good contact for wood . Local tree guy who doesn’t sell firewood so he gives it away . This is the second load I’ve gotten from him . Today he said he will call me exclusively when the customers want the wood removed . He takes all the softwoods to the dump . What’s even nicer is I didn’t have to touch the wood

I have a nice stool that belonged to my dad that says Ford on it in big letters. I don't mind though. My butt can't read and I can't see it when I'm sitting on it.

I like your style. I do the same, including hanging onto my scrap. I came to post about my wheelbarrow project. One of the handles got broken and it's still in great shape. I'm a scavenger, too. Last week, at the end of the lane of the farmhouse I'm working on, and out by the road were the turned wood head and foot boards to a full size bed free for the taking. What a coincidence, because in the past couple weeks I decided a full size bed in one of my bedrooms could use a replacement. It has a few issues. I hauled the pieces home, looked up on one of my lumber racks for a pair of oak bedrails I wasn't sure I still had, and there they were. Filthy and needing a little work but usable, with hardware compatible with the head and foot. One thing the sideboards need are three of the four curvy pieces on the ends that help keep the bed from racking. I went to my 3-4' lumber stash and there was just the piece of oak I needed to make four new ones with a few inches left over

We had 13 good size alders taken down this week. They were on a hillside next to my shop. No big deal 20 some years ago when we moved in. But now some of em were very large and leaning more than I liked. The tree guy was fantastic. Cut em up in 16inch rounds, and did a fantastic clean up job.

Called a couple buddies, hey you guys want some wood? No hesitation, heck yeah. People like free wood.

I'm hoping that got put to use for projects as opposed to heat. I should move to tree country so that I can get wood for less money.

Heating is probably one of the most expensive cost here in the northeast . Unless you have the tools to mill your own wood most mills won’t touch a yard tree . To many signs ,wire fencing and other things nailed and screwed into them . I’ve found climbing spikes completely encased in trees . Sometimes wood is destined to be firewood .

I’m going to mill parts of this maple . It was a yard tree but it’s got a huge burl on it so I’ll chance ruining an expensive ripping chain on it

Sorry if it seemed like I was bagging on you about the wood. I'm sure you've saved a lot of nice wood, given the projects you've posted here. I'll be interested in how that burl turns out.
