They missed the fact that the LWB forward rear wheel opening lip shape are specific to them, and easy to spot. Blazers and SWB bed sides have the same wheel opening lips.

Even worse, there's a guy in the comments on the video who says he wants to turn his Blazer into a longbed... WHAT???

I watched that awhile back. Very interesting and if I had a blazer top laying around, I think I would tackle one. But I don't so maybe somebody will start a thread on here with a conversion.

And no Jimmies in '68 or '69. MY 1970 was their debut. IDK if St Louis was cranking out many C/5s either. GMC never badged the Jimmy as a K/5 or even K/750. It was a whole hog K/1500 from the git go.

While I respect their chop/cut/rebuild/ skiils, I wondered why they had to pick on a perfectly nice truck? But I gathered they were a bunch of soulless morons. Out to make a radical video for a producer with no clue, but he heard the '67- '68 C/10s were the hippest thing.

Oh I agree. The work is fantastic. It's not easy to get that but he built something that already exists I guess is my thought. I would rather use those skills towards something more unique. But that's just me.

I liked that truck a lot. It's a shame these mousse heads can't respect these trucks for what they are. That was a nice truck that had a lot of usefulness left in it. Now, not so much

I grew up in the 60s and 70s. A new v8 squarebody truck in 1977 at Jack Wilson Chevrolet in Paducah was around 3 grand all dressed up like I wanted, you know, short bed, white spoke wheels, four wheel drive, air cond, all that stuff. Trouble was, I only had about 800 bucks to my name. And I got that from mowing yards since I was 12. No bank would loan me money without a cosigner, so I never did get to buy that new truck in 77. Now that many years and many trucks have cycled through my life, I appreciate those folks who were able to keep 50+ year old vehicles out of the junkyards and crushers. Without those visionaries, you or me would not have an old truck or car to enjoy. If you are one of those people , thank you. I look at todays world a little differently, Things like, youtube, BJ auctions, Ebay, and reality shows like Gas Monkey, Graveyard Cars, etc, can only be good for our hobby. There are many of you in their 60s, and 70s and beyond, and you ,like me probably hated all those in the beginning. I did, but there is a generation, or three behind us that need to carry the torch when we are gone. Alot of them may only see these old cars and trucks on tv. As far as cutting up trucks to make something else out of them? Guilty as charged, but if you don't want to, fine. I love em all. We have so many talented people out there in this world, and I hope I never quit learning.

K5 2wd is a 75k unit.
A fabricated one on a roadster shop chassis is still 50- 60 ish. C20 is $7500 to 14k- kinda makes sense

I can't exactly remember the number, but it was an astronomical difference between what they wanted for one, and for what funds I had. Not trying to hurt feelings, or rile anybody up, but this is EXACTLY the same reason that a man buys a longbed and makes a shortie out of it. Without the law of supply and demand, you could pick up a good used 72 for 12-1500 like you and I could in the 90s. Heck, I'd see a dozen a week or more on the road. I appreciate all of them, and I love to be lost in a sea of C10s at a big show. Maybe the aftermarket industry is a little overzealous in pushing conversions and kits for them. It is the same over in the tri five world. 4 doors to two doors, coupes to convertibles. Anything you want. Plastic surgery on the cars has changed the face of the industry. I guess the only difference is now it is shown to us on the boob tube. Where I draw the line is misrepresentation. It is the unscrupulous person getting involved for profit, that ruins it for us all that ticks me off.
