Re: Project 78 High Sierra

I'll consider it a donation to your build. I don't even have a truck this year but the tailgate was so sweet I didn;t want them to crush it. It has GMC on the left or right in the middle or indention part of the gate. I tried to sell it a while back but nobody wanted it so I put it in the shed. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

just to let you know the small gmc insert will not fit in that tail gate you will have to use the lager one and the hard wear for the tail gate is diffrent you will have to find 81-87 henges on your 78 bed but it will fit

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Didnt have a lot of time this weekend or well money but i got some work done on the workshop

Removed all the screws from the support/water channel, filled the holes, and added some ceiling/support to hold the top and give area for lighting

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Got a new tailgate from Chuck (thelonerife) and went to town. First I made a run to pull apart after chuck and i confirmed that it needed 81 - 87 brackets just like Trout said.

Got my brackets and then went and took it down to bare metal. A little bondo and then hit it with some self etching primer followed by some primer.sealer

Going hit it will 320 grit tomorrow and then blitz black

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Just a little...After my 9:30pm run to Walmart I found myself tinkering.....Sanded it down, cleaned it (apparently not enough), and pained it... Not perfect but looks good...Plan to take pics in the morning....Then do a little work on the GMC part of it hehe

Looks Nice! Are you looking at keeping that toolbox. Because I know a guy with a chest type he'd get rid of. Its the type that you don't see on top of the rail.
