Re: My Facetruck thread.
came home from work and found this trackhoe on the table
my son built it from my 70's era expert builder sets and a 1980 idea book, it was not sold as a kit now if he could just build me one I could use on the farm... and Larry's grandson could operate it for us ![]() ![]()

That is impressive. We were talking about problem solving skills in the office a few minutes ago.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
That's just wonderful through and through.
My condolences to you and your family on your dad's passing on. That's a neat little buggy idea he came up with... long before JD got the idea for a Gator. How old were you when you first drove the hoopie?

Re: My Facetruck thread.
A skunk got in my shop. I caught him in a live trap and safely released him yesterday. I slid the Trap over the end of an 8-in PVC pipe as I opened the door.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
What do you do, cover the trap while you carry it? I had a skunk problem here and I think I recall that was what was recommended. I didn't deal with it, luckily they went away. Yes, they. They were under my screen house. One evening I saw movement and went closer to look as they went under. What, there's two? Wait, WTH? One, two, and three little ones following. How do you catch 5 skunks w/o getting bombed? I'm just glad they moved on

Re: My Facetruck thread.
i thought I saw a post by you on a FB group, Larry. The K/20 pictured was Dark Olive Poly w./white top '72 clean as a whistle. I saw it wasn't you sitting in it and it had Custom fender emblems. Low mileage and all original. Someone commented on the bumper guards being different. I posted the guards were 67-70 style and that it was a very nicely optioned Custom, having upper & lower side trim, chrome hubcaps & bumpers. It also had deluxe side markers which I also prefer. I said how I love a highly optioned Custom or Custom Deluxe more than a Cheyenne. I made the mistake of posting w/o blowing pictures up first and it looked like it had the brightwork window trim. So I asked if he had added that. The guy came back all synical saying "It's nice to finally meet an expert" and defended the truck's originality, one repaint, and said it even had the rubber floor mat. I blew the picture up and saw it had the proper Custom window detail. I said I would never call myself an expert but if he talked to me a while he might think I was and corrected myself on the window trim. But I also said it's actually a rubber floor covering, not a mat, mats are removeable. Next thing I know he shut comments down. I had complimented the truck followed by simple questions and the guy got bent out of shape. I love the truck and wanted to talk about it, but apparently there is only room for one expert in that town

Re: My Facetruck thread.
It sure is. I'm on an old house and old fashioned cooking groups now. Always some bad players. I see it all the time on the truck groups, a guy will show his truck he just bought or restored and all the comments are guys showing their truck rather than acknowledging the guy did a good job or bought a nice one. Ignoramuses
![]() A person shows their spaghetti made with sauce from a jar and someone calls it poverty spaghetti. Others call him on it and he says they are too sensitive. A guy shows a custom made gas cap on his '72. I'll admit it was a touch of funky, but one guy says that isn't custom if he made it sitting on the toilet. I had to wonder how that guy would know he was sitting on the toilet. Maybe his wife beats him. A sad person ![]()

Re: My Facetruck thread.
We still have a drive in theater near here. They have a classic car night once a month. We got there early. They had a good turnout.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
I miss drive-in theaters, period. I'd point the truck away from the screen and watch the movie in bed with my gal. We'd have it set up all cozy. The Jefferson Drive-In was a country road drive through farmland. Didn't even have to leave the valley. Great memories
