got one rear bracket tacked and i welded in 1/4 inch round tubing to strengthen the notches some. it's mounted below the bed floor.

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
most everything will be done in hydraulic hose. once installed and leak free im hoping i never have to mess with anything. i know DOT airline and fittings would be easier, but this pre-made hose comes in 12", 18", 24", 36", 48", 60", 72", 84", 96", then all the way up to 144". ends already on them. they range from 10 to 40 bucks. not that expensive seeing that the push to connect connectors are at least 10 bucks a pr....locally they cost me 12 bucks each. most of the sizes of hose i'll be using will cost under 20 bucks each and the ends are obviously never going to have trbl.....and i think 3500 psi will do.

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
Quote:
i bought it along time ago for my ball valve setup. 15 bucks at lowes. for the compressor i'll end up running a hydraulic hose straight to the tank and use a tee instead of the manifold to feed the front valves. i was going to run the 4 valves for the rear off it too, but decided i will run 2 valves next to each rear bag and run 2 separate hoses from the tank instead. the main reason i wont keep the manifold or the cross is since they are steel... they rust... and my valves may stick from debree. ive got to order a brass cross and a couple check valves. im going to run one gauge to measure one front bag, one for the one rear bag and one for the tank and mount them in the dash. might do 2 dual input gauges. one for front and rear pressures and one for tank.

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
i still need to get a 12 inch hydraulic hose....didnt want to drive 30 miles to tractor supply today, so i'll change that out next weekend. and if anyone's wondering about the ball valve...it is to slow down this side since the other side has a longer hose. this way i can get both sides to air up and down at the same speed.

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
my rear tires are hung up on the tubs....and my axle can still move up 2 1/2 more inches. im not sure if im going to cut my tubs yet for the extra 2 1/2 inches of rear drop or keep them and bump stop them so i dont rub tires. i had the tub unbolted on one side but the Rhino lining bedliner is 1/4 inch thick and the tubs would need to be cut loose.... where they mount so they can come off. also, as you can see i should have went ahead and bought the 12 inch hydraulic hose. it still needs to be put in on the passenger side....but oh well, everything else worked out. and no i dont have shocks yet....now i know where i can mount them....that will be next week most likely

Re: 86 squarebody made2drag
It looks sweet!! If I were you I'd put some bump stops in the rear, at least until you can get the front lower to match, Because right now it sits pretty level, and in my opinion the front end higher that the back isn't the best look.
