Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

im new here and im 16. i drive a 1972 Chevy c10 long wide box. its got a big block 454 that's pushing a little over 650 horses with 590 foot pounds of torque. i use to drive my truck to school everyday till some guys got jealous and took my carb, distributor, spark plugs and keyed my truck. thankfully they didn't steal my parts. they just put them in the bed. now when i drive to school there is a cop that sits out there all day and watches my truck for me.

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

Today was my final day of school.

It's the single most strangest feeling in the world right now, and I truly don't know what to make of it. Right now, the world feels bigger, and people feel farther apart already even though it's only been 6 hours. And knowing that I wont see many makes me sad. I won't be hanging with everyone every day. And many are leaving for a long while.

I won't have the same routine next year, there isn't a summer, christmas, spring break to look forward too (college is undecided right now, dunno what I want to do %100). The fact is, it's an end to something that you can never do again. There's a lot I wish I had and hadn't done. Wish I had done more and tried harder. Did and learned a lot. And senior year has been the best ****ing year ever.

It's weird, things just seem bigger and the world looks different the moment you leave. It's exciting, eye opening, and a reality check. The single greatest and most depressing moment of my life so far, I guess.

To the class of 09!

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

Graduation is a whole group of emotions as well. I just went through it on the 29th, and it was by far one of the most eye opening moments of my life.

Knowing you're probably never going to see a majority of those people again, or if you do it will be seldom and far between, is a reality check. That paired along with the fact that it's what you've worked 13 years for and it all comes to an end with a few speeches, some songs, and prayers.

All you can do now is look back at all the good times and bad times, and revel in the fact that you've made it through each and every one of them. Even though my senior year has had some of the worst moments of my life it's still been by far the greatest time of my life as well. I wouldn't change a thing given the option to.

Well, tomorrow is the last day of tenth grade for me, I can't wait to graduate. My sister just finished her freshman year in college and she likes it so much better. She was the same way as me

texanidiot25, you are so exactly right...it is a terribly strange feeling, its relieving and depressing at the same time. Im not too worried about not seeing the people in my class, they are all a bunch of...well, lets just say I didn't get along with most of them, after all this is a family friendly board!

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

texanidiot you summed up the feelings ive had for a week or so now. grad is still a few weeks away, but im already dreading leaving it all behind, im having a blast, and i never want to grow up

it also doesn't help that i took a job 150 miles away from home this summer, and im staying up where im working the whole summer, making seeing my friends next to impossible for like 2 months, then everyone is packed up and gone.. its all such a bummer. oh well, time goes on..
