Re: John's Project

I really like the looks of them, but make sure and research the company you buy them from. I have heard some problems from some of the companies.

Re: John's Project

^^^ have you heard of a company that doesn't have an issue or 10? I seriously considered them before I decided to just change the stock rubber, but no one seemed totally impressed with there $600 + investment.

Re: John's Project

Try and talk to captkaos. He was doing the group buy on here, and sells several of them on his site. The last group buy didn't go well, from the manufacturer stand point, so I think it is the last group buy he will do. I love the look of it, and am seriously considering it when I get to the paint/interior part of the truck.

Re: John's Project

well there's only two companies that I know of that make them and that's One Piece Products (OPP) and Brothers...

who else makes them?

I had heard good and bad...like hit or miss on whether they fit right or not...it's funny how some fit good and others couldn't get them to fit at all...not to step on any toes, but maybe some people just didn't have the skill to pull of the conversion...when it's not factory and it's custom, some people have problems...I'm just saying...

and I also like the look of them, but I have brand new vent window seals and latches...and I also would have to come up with something for the power windows I think...not sure on that though...and it's also around $700 for windows to take the place of windows that already work fine...lol

Chuck.

Re: John's Project

see now that works...the only problem I could see with this is I think the door glass is curved and I don't know if that would be a problem or not

Re: John's Project

i would use an old window channel and make a couple of brackets to hold it and call it good. You might have to extend the channel that holds the window but not sure, you'll have to see how it rolls up first.

I'll just catch 'em with it parked in his driveway some time when I'm running by and steal some pics of it. See if he's got any new stuff he hasn't unvailed.

Re: John's Project

I kept hearing about people coming by and spying on my project so I had to move it into the garage. Sorry nothing has been done in a while. My daughter has started softball again for the fall, and we have had games or practices every night for the last two weeks.

That and I have been focused on trying to talk Holly into a Trailblazer SS.

Re: John's Project

Just go and let her test drive one John. You won't have to convince her anymore.lol She'll love it. It's all I can do to keep my wife out of mine.

Re: John's Project

Yeah my aunt and uncle have one, and my aunt said come drive it anytime. I know she'll love it, and she does too. Bad thing is if she drives one she will for sure want one, and then it just comes down to paying for one. I've been searching though, and they are starting to come down in price for some of the lower optioned 06 and 07's.

Re: John's Project

They are some really nice ones around here on craigslist in either 1SS or 3SS packages. I got the 1SS package on mine. I didn't want the leather seats with suede inserts along with the added bells and whistles. I love the power out of the box. They are awesome but with a few mods (I here) they really come alive. Check out www.TBSSOWNERS.COM You can find out all you want to know about them and some things you don't. I'm in the process of modding mine now.

Re: John's Project

Thanks for the link. I have been on trailblazerss.com, and have gotten some real good info on there. I'm like you I don't really care about the leater/suede seats. The navigation, and dvd would be cool, but not worth extra money for me. The wife for sure wants a sunroof though. Don't really care about the AWD either. Not worth the extra $$, and hassle when it something goes wrong.

We found a Red Jewel 07 here in OKC exactly what we were looking for. Sunroof, cloth seats, 2wd. I just can't get her to commit right now. She is saying wait till after Christmas. I told her it could be Christmas if we got it now. Good thing she's not as impulsive as I am. She's the one that balances me out.
