Re: The build date project
That’s not the answer, that’s only going to cause confusion. I’m working a lot right now as oil and gas is booming, and I have a relatively new born along with my older two kids and wife. I apologize for the delay and as soon as I can get a few evenings to sit down and catch it up I will. I do keep up with every update in this thread even if I may seem distant.

I am now updated through this post (334). GMC list Chevy list One other thing I've been thinking about (and am open to discussion on): If there isn't much value in a serial number (ie. unknown build date, or if the same information such as the build month could have been determined from two serial numbers already on the list), I don't think we should add it to the list. It clutters the thread and the list. Some exceptions I propose are 1) if it is potentially the last serial number for that plant and year, 2) you want to see your truck's serial number on the list, 3) it is the only serial number for a given plant/year on the list, or 4) it is potentially the last Blazer or Jimmy built at the St. Louis plant in 1972 (appears to be sometime in March '72). Let's keep truckin! __________________________________________ 72 Chevy 2Z127583 = 12/10/71 (post 334) 72 Chevy 2Z135197 = 01/19/72 (post 334) 68 GMC ZB20536 = 04/22/68 (post 334) 71 Chevy 1Z607965 = 09/03/70 (post 334) Last edited by 402Bowtie; 01-15-2022 at 02:09 PM. |

Thanks for posting! I'll get the 2B truck added to the list and the Pontiac GMC seems to be a rare and valuable addition too. However, we could already confidently infer that the 2Z truck you posted is a June build, so I'm going to leave that one off the list since the web page allows a maximum number of characters per post. Similarly, the 72 Jimmy doesn't provide much new value without any dates. _________________________ 67 chevy 7A147787 = TBD (post 340) the last 7A on the list. 72 chevy 2Z160566 = 4/72 (post 340) 70 chevy 0J149058 = 4/70 (post 340) 68 chevy 8F186614 = TBD (post 340) the last 8F on the list Last edited by 402Bowtie; 12-03-2023 at 10:13 PM. |

200 head Remind me, who were the guys that indexed the assembly manual? They sure did the viewers a favor, and they nailed it too.

Re: The build date project
No picture as truck is torn down but mine is 1972 CHEVROLET K10 #2Z109291
So looking like a late 1971 build date in the new 1972 model year. |
