2 ideas on the radiator/hood interference...
I didn't see how it was mounted, and what the fan/shroud clearance would be...
the ideal thing would be to just drop the radiator down just the 3.5 inches, it looks like there is plenty of room underneath.

another thing you could think about is a body lift, leave the radiator where it is, and space out all the body mounts 3.5 inches, like they do on 4wd's, that would lift up your body high enough to get the hood to close. with a body lift you might run into issues where you need to lengthen , or move linkages that come from the body- clutch,brake line,gas pedal inkage, steering column.

think it will fall in the hot rod catagory when you make it real nice and paint it or rad rod if you leave it as is

Looks like you've been busy, that thing is looking good. I wonder if a radiator from a 70's / 80's vintage 454 truck or RV with the HD cooling / tow package would work. I bet there are plenty of 'em in the yards now days.

This radiator is narrow enough to go between frame rails. Bottom of radiator is even with bottom of frame now.
Fan clearance is the problem. Any lower and fan will hit top tank and shroud.

No problem to drop by using electic fans.

Coolant capacity with this radiator now is 17 gallons.

Is there a way to mount the fan to the crank pulley instead of the water pump pulley?
that would buy you some room...

I did some measuring today.
Fan on crank won't work. The radiator would be faar too low to line up and below front suspension.

I'm trying to avoid more body lift if possible. My hinges are alot rustier now than 25-30 yrs ago. I don't bounce in and out of trucks as easy now.

This radiator can be dropped up to 5". The bottom hose would be a little close on room, but doable. It would need a rock screen in front of the lower part. It would be below the bumper some. The shroud would be discarded and use electric fans. The cooling surface of tubes is 26" X 26".
I'll do some checking measurements on truck radiators, such as 454s, diesels, and road trucks too.

I did get the bed BOLTED down today. Much easier to take off if needed.

I knew this was being done, but wanted to wait and let Locomotive post when he was ready. He already has a Sherman tank engine installed in a Mustang, and it's posted on U-tube. We're trying to use a little different application for the V12s.
There are two other V12 projects out there being worked on also.
We'll see what they come up with.
Most of you guys ideas are being used in some way somewhere on these 4 projects that I know of.

It's getting the farmer look. Already junk on the bed. Couldn't wait for son to come in off road to video first move. It will now "Whoa and go".
Ran it for about an hour, temp set on 180, oil pressure at 40 pounds. Brakes work ok. Only putted around here in yard and out in the pasture some.
Lower pic shows 6" clearance between rear motor mount and oil pan we ended up with. Someday running board might hide that some. Still have to be careful over humps.

May post video over the weekend. Won't show much, but it's proof IT MOVES.

I've been following your build for several months. Congratulations on achieving the "whoa and go". I'm looking forward to the video not only to see it move but HEAR IT move to.

EDIT: While I was studying the photo of your truck I noticed the surrounding plains looks exactly like West Texas where I live. But I thought that would mean you have to live due north of me in the OK panhandle. I live 4 1/2 mi SE of Ralls, so I decided to look you up and guess what?

I want to thank all of you who have offered advice and suggestions on this. The project has taken many unexpected forks in the road due to them, but have acheived more than I set out to do. The result is more than I had expected. I'm sure that if any ever meet her in person, you will recognized your ideas.
She looks alot better in the pics than in person.

Something you might want to consider is power steering.My arms hurt just watching you steer that thing!(I have it on my 351 v-6).I see you've done a lot to it that you didn't mention in your posts.
I bet it would do well at the tractor pulls!
