Here is the controler I used on my jeep to control the fan at all times. I really like it as it gives you adjustable temp control for the fan, compressor turn on for the fan, and run after ignition shuf off to cool the raditor and engine, and has only one wire to the engine and thats to the compressor. Very simple and very compact and very easy to install.. Only 79.95 plus shiping... Brian is an engineer and designed and builds these.. They will handle any fan you may wish to use even the heavy amp draw mark VIII fan many of us jeep owners install to cool the engines.

I figured that I wouldn't need the compressor switch since anytime the engine gets to 190 the fan would come on anyway.. Some add an additonal fan to come on when the ac compressor is on for the extra insurance to keep the engine cool during slow( parades,etc,) driving. May be needed may not. depends on how good your cooling system is setup.

I acually used the triary switch setup, a little more complated but a safer system for the ac..

If I had it to do over I would probably go with the binary system to give some protection to the compressor and keep the wiring simplar.

Thanks for all the help. Since I didn't plan on a trianary switch I'll run with out it. I might change my mind before I get the AC done. I'm going to get it running and on the road then do the AC. I'll check on the check temp switch for now.

I was able to spend about 6 hours on the hood today. I wiped it then guide coated it and used air tools to knock off the crust. Then I guide coated and blocked with 80. The top is done with 80. I still have to do the sides. Then i will guide coat and block with 120. If all is good I will buzz over with 180 and apply the slick sand.

Alan, Sorry I thought that since you are south you would be running with an AC for sure... Since you aren't then go with the simplest diagram and be doen with it... Who needs more headackes... LOl

You should make alittle movie of when you turn the key for the first time. Even if it does'nt start the first time. Be sure and get a close up of your face. Maybe a big fat chew in and a pinner hanging out.

Thanks, I hope so. When it gets close to the end it's hard not to cut corners by saying that's good enough. I have to keep the integrity.

No need to be sorry, I will be running AC. It will be hooked up later. I'm still not sure where I will run my lines for the AC.

Sorry we missed the first expression. Believe me it was a look of concern. Wondering what was gonna leak, burn, blow up etc. lol

I filled the radiator with almost 4 gallons of 50/50 with my vac pump. I sucked the system down to make sure it would hold a vac.







Well, it is alive. Start up was pretty good. First the lines on the tranny were loose. Then the tranny cooler lines on the radiator leaked. After several times tightening down I thought something was wrong. My gut was right. After removeing the lines we discovered there weren't any flares in the radiator. I called Summitt and they said it's 1/4" NPT. Shannon and I spent 3-4 hours looking for a fitting. No luck so I just ran a bypass hose for now.



Line fittings are very confussing to me. It's a 5/16" OD line with inverted flare to 1/4" NPT. Correct like this one.

Dave, I can't afford to do another. If I do another it will be on someone elses dime.

I'm such a tard sometimes. When I fired it and it ran for a while I noticed the cooling fan didn't come on. I jumped it and later found that there wasn't any power coming from the fuse block to the relay on the radiator support. I wish I would have paid attention before, because the fuse panel has a fan relay built into it. In the schematic the right 2 terminals are for the for the fan relay. The green is the ground. At this point I'm going to ground the relay in the cab and just use the relay out front.

Since it can move under it's own power, I pulled it outside and gave it the first official bath. Of coarse I took some pics as well.
