Re: What parts aren't out there?
I've got buddy buckets in my 68 K20. I can't seem to find molded seat cushions for the center console portion, otherwise known as the "buddy seat."

Re: What parts aren't out there?
If this part isn't being made, then I wonder how many of us could use one, besides me? This is what I found when I got through removing the A/C and heater boxes. Should serve to warn everyone about using the right automotive sealers....

Re: What parts aren't out there?
Right. I suspect we'll be cutting out a big piece of the cowl sides and fixin' the damage. When that is done, the plan is to install a helladrain to carry the water/leaves/dirt away from the plenum....and to install a screen on the bottom of the air intake to keep them from getting in, in the first place. I'm gonna reckon that you Yanks have seen rust like mine, many times. Sucks, don't it?
Thanks for the post.

Re: What parts aren't out there?
The black dotted line is where I cut mine open like a can opener to access the rotted cab seam. The red dotted line is where GM put the water gutter/diverter (for lack of knowing what to call it) that diverts the water from the fan air inlet. All the intersections of layered metal in that area combined with fine leaf and road dirt, pollen, and water makes a great rot mixture. Cutting it out and welding back was easier then I thought because it didnt matter to me just how pretty it looked because it was under the pretty painted cowel piece. Once it was all done and before I reinstalled the piece I cut out for access I put 3 coats of POR-15 everywhere I could and a few places I couldnt. No leaks!

Re: What parts aren't out there?
Hey, thanks for the info. I'm gonna save the photo you modified. I have a friend who is going to do the work, using a junk cab he has....long story. He's worked on a bunch of this bodies, back in the day, and is very familiar with the ins and outs of the good and the bad that can happen. I'm looking at possibly replacing the bottom of the door post at the leading edge of the cab on the drivers side. The tab that holds the fender bottom stayed with the fender. May replace both to be safe....

Re: What parts aren't out there?
if it hasn't been mentioned already, I'd love to see a patch panel for the upper cab corner, the area just above the gas cap on the driver side that the metal has that little outward bump. Get crackin on that please

Re: What parts aren't out there?
Been workin on my 68 burb for years, and I am still amazed that the resto shops STILL ignore burb restorers...
Here are a few things I had to search high and low for. Used of course, but would have been nice to have the selection all the P/U guys have... Fill tube for the gas tank Complete 67/68 body mouldings Colored rubber floor coverings Original style headliner sections Complete recover kit for 3 benches, in 67/68 style vinyle Complete recover kit for all inside door panels & cargo bay area. Complete body to frame bushing kit Rear gate hardware (chrome gate handle, pushbutton lock) Back up and tail light housings Rear bench seat hold down brackets Complete burb body moulding clip sets for holding the trim to body Aqua colored interior This is just off the top of my head too!
