Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

It came off a big rig. My friend has a bunch of old cars laying around, I got this one for $400. I pulled the bumper of needless to say. yeah it needs a lot of work, but it will be fun.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

Thanks tractor1963. Do you think it's kind of weird to have the wider rims in the back? I think I would prefer to have the same size rims in the back as the front. Do you have any recommendations of where I can buy some old school mags like this that match? I think 8 lugs are tougher to find right?

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

I got my 16.5 slots off Ebay. In fact, my set was offset like yours. I found another set on Ebay, when it ended I contacted the winner and asked to trade 2 of them. He wanted the 9.5's I had and I wanted the 8's he had. They are two different manufacturers, but the difference is minor. Looks good!!! Keep it up.

73-87 trucks never came with a small back window, I agree that is pretty different.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

All the medium duty (C50 up) cabs have the small window. I know of a C65 crewcab that has the big window which may have been added. It is easy to follow the stamped body lines (see photos) and cut it out to full size, but I like the small ones. By the way, GM used this cab for big trucks up until the middle of 1990 model year. They actually built both old and newer body styles as 1990 trucks.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

There really hard to find but there are several people on here that have them. There's a picture of my 83 back on page 13 but its nowhere close to as nice as that one. Id say you could get around $5000 or $6000 for it just because their hard to find and it looks like it is really good shape.

Hey Bluex on your 78, who makes the wheels on it? Or does anyone know of a company that makes weld prostar look alikes for the truck bolt pattern?

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

They were made by Pacer. They are probably 10 years old now. I ordered them through a local tire shop. I wanted welds, but when he gave me the price, I asked what I could get that looked the same, but cheaper.

I was still in HS at the time. I honestly have never liked them at all.

Oh, and I dont remember who asked, but I dont have any current pics. Most are at least 4 yrs old. It runs great and all, but looks like a $300 truck. Not much to take pics of...
