I thought he would have done black with a golden eagle on the hood and a magnet mount c.b. antena on the trunk lid.

Re: My 1965 build thread
Do you have a home made battery box? Did you have interferrance (sp) with the battery tray? That radiator looks just like the one I have.

Re: My 1965 build thread
Alan, if you don't want to do all the modifications necessary to use that radiator, you could just get one of the universal aluminum radiators from Summit. The #380328 will fit without modding the inner fenders, but you will have to move the battery over. I believe that #380325 will fit without anny mods. ChiefRocka did a writeup when he did his but I think he used the #380324.....look in his build thread.

This is what I mocked up today just to get a visual of what needs to be done. Today I was also able to mock the bed up to check a few things. I like the stance, I got a stiffy I'm kind of digging the rally wheel look. Just paint the wheels the color that is on the frame. Left side tire clearance. There is a little more than it looks, but I think I will roll the lip. The axle is centered in the frame. Rt side

Re: My 1965 build thread
That does sit good Alan. I think rallys on these trucks are pretty hard to beat, but with all of the little(and big) custom touches, you need just a little Just my $.02, but I'm sure whatever direction you go will be a solid choice.

Thanks Chris I had plans of running this side fill door. But I don't know if it will work because of the custom side trim. I think the filler will be mounted too low to allow easy fuel flow to the tank. I'll have to study it some more.

Re: My 1965 build thread
Allen, I used a fuel door from a 95' Chev pickup and was originally not going to run the side trim but have since changed my mind. As you said there is only one place that the fill can go to assure easy flow to the tank so, I am going to cut and fit the trim now.

Re: My 1965 build thread
Trying to get an idea of where the fuel pocket will be. The chrome side moulding will be close.
I got the roof gutter seam sealed with Duramix 4229 controlled flow seam sealer. I've been waiting on a warmer day so it would flow out. It turned out pretty good. Does anyone know if there are repair pieces for this area where the inside of the bed meets the wood floor?

Re: My 1965 build thread
You sneaked in while I was posting. I did a 4" spring and shocks, track bar relocator. Is that better.
I don't know the tire sizes right off hand.

Re: My 1965 build thread
I think this is my first post on here? I don't know.
Anyways, just thought I'd drop a line and say that this is a very nice build man. Quality work going on here and I look forward to this thing being a rolling, finished mass. Should be good times |
