Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

I have some pictures of it when it had a normal bed on it. I thought it still had the electric rear window in the back. that goes into the tailgate.

Used to have. Normal looking bed on it, but looks like someone cut it down

I agree. It would be so much easier to use a c-70 or gmc 7000 and put on suburban/Blazer body rear and Bed on back.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Hello All
New to the board and thought I would post a few pics of my 1982 K30. I have had 4 or 5 square bodied Chevys but this one is by far my favorite so far. My Wife, kids and I made a 2400 mile round trip from Colorado to Washington state to pick up this beast. The price was right. Originally I was just looking for a good solid work/ hunting truck to beat around in with my boy but now we have decided to do a full restoration/ build on this. Right now it has a rebuilt 350/rebuilt th350/np205. New drive lines and rebuilt rear end with a new grizzly locker. I have already junked the original Qjet and cast intake for an Edelbrock intake and carb and a set of Edelbrock chrome valve covers and air cleaner. Made a huge difference in how it runs but it still needs more power.
My build plans include
Full repaint and new cloth interior
2.5" Procomp lift kit
swap in a 454 and 700r4 trans

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Welcome and great looking crew! Mine has the 350 also and was a little anemic too. I stuck a 177 weiand blower on top, now it runs better than any big block crew I ever had. Picked up 1 mpg too!

P.S. More pics please (interior,etc.)

Those tires are huge!!

I think you need more lift or smaller tires lol

It does look like a big rig though.

Great Looking Truck !
How much does it cost you to get those adapters and then the wheels and tires... Compared to taking a REAL Truck suspension and just mounting the cab on it For example a C-60 or Gmc 6000 compated to cost of what you have now?
Dont get me wrong.. I love the look of your truck. Then again, I do not know if I could handle the ride of a c-60 with no load.
How much do the Adapters Wheels and Tires cost?

Does anyone have pictures of this as Built. I just have a hard time thinking that it is a Semi Frame. Compared to a c-60 frame and grafted suburban and bed on it.
Seems like less work. I had a Big Truck and Man it is a Lot of work to get that Engine into that Compartment, Unless you just use a 60 to start with
