That's cool. I wish I had one of my grandparents old cars, my grandfather had some neat ones.

Likely will be around there at some point. It's a lot easier to handle than the truck with the trailer.

We went to lunch today and were lucky to get a seat which is usually no problem. The place was packed which is good to see also. My old dog Bear bit me today. He wasn't trying to. He was trying to bite my German Shepherd because Bear's a grumpy old dog and Duke bugs him. Bear is blind and he just missed Duke and got me instead. I guess Duke moves faster than I do. I was just shocked that the old fella still had it in him. He bit me hard.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Be careful with the midweek idea. We've been burned twice on that now. Camp near a tourist destination Tues thru Thursday and only half of the places bother opening without the weekend crowds around. Setting up Sunday afternoon, after the 3 day campers leave just might work.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
We went shopping for plants to put in pots for the deck and the wife got a little over productive. We placed 28 plants in 6 pots today and still have 14 left over and no more pots. She claims it wasn't deliberate so she has to go buy more pots, but I don't know... Managed to buy 12 flowers/shrubs to plant around the house too.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I have no idea what a carpenter bee is? Are they bee's that can build you a deck or frame a house?
I hung my Sputnik lamp today. I'm going for the 60's vibe in the house like when it was built. Excuse the mess. The place is still under seemingly endless construction. The floor is already being put in and those sliding doors are going bye bye. I'm putting in French doors. I don't know why they call them French doors. They aren't from France. Kind of like French fries. Those round circles in the ceiling are skylights. I keep trying to turn the lights off but then realize that the lights are already off. I was dropped on my head as a child.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Sliding glass doors are so '60s. Taking them out? I don't get why they call them French doors either. Wouldn't that be a porte?
there are carpenter ants, too, and neither build anything. They destroy wooden structures. They call them carpenter bees so you know who to call to fix your house. That's great if California doesn't have those. They bore a whole that looks like it was drilled with a 3/8" bit, but that's just the beginning. They hollow out a chamber to lay eggs. They come back every year and multiply till you have these aerial dog fights between males. You can hear them munching away inside the board. These traps trick them and they work. They crawl in, fall into the jar and can't get out

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I've had ants practically kill one of our trees. Son of guns bored a hole through the center of a real large, long limb nearly the length of it. I had seen some ants on the tree but it didn't look out of the ordinary. It wasn't until I cut that big limb down and into shorter lengths that I learned what they were doing. Completely inside the limb.
And again recently I saw trails in some wall studs of my shop behind the wood siding that looked like termite damage. As I poked into them I found ants buried up in them. They were vacated.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
well the Trueman's Ice Cream Road Rally was a success, although sad.we left here last Saturday the 6th,arrived Sunday about 7:00 PM in Medina,Ohio.we left Friday the 12th and got home last night about 8:00 PM.we did 4350 kilometers or 2702 miles.the car ran great and mostly great weather.it was stressful babysitting ice cream frozen in about 15 pounds of dry ice but it made it with the ice cream still frozen and dry ice left, although not much.i doubt we could've been able to keep it for 3 days but 2 were fine.Bob feels good and looked better than when we made this same trip last October,in fact they are going to try to get here in June.i hope he can make it.we did hear another friend from Tallmadge,Ohio.Tom,a man i met on the way to the Harley-Davidson 100th anniversary in Milwaukee in 2003 and the man who introduced me to Bob.Tom was very sick after a bone marrow transplant that didn't work.he was also sick last time we were there but he didn't feel up to a visit so we didn't.this time i checked with his wife this time to see him if it was possible and i had a delivery for him.there's a Cadbury chocolate bar he says he can't buy in the States so i mail him some from time to time, anyway i had 1 in my pocket for him,if we could see him.she thought it would be fine for a short visit so we took off last Monday for one of the Cleveland Clinic's Cancer centers and saw him for about 10 minutes, delivered a candy bar, said our good bye's and we were off.i sent his wife a message when we getting ready to leave,to say good bye and to please left us us know how he was doing.she said the doctors told her to call the family in,he hadn't opened his eyes or spoken a word since Tuesday.i'm glad i got to see him.doesn't look good.look after whoever is close to you.you just never know?take care all.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I had them in my previous pergola. Tore it down and built another. I should put out some traps and cover the sides so the wife doesn't have to look at them dying.

I've got enough problems with the dang termites munching away on my house. I think I've seen those carpenter bees. I just never knew the name. They're the big ones? I had a bunch of them buzz bomb me when I was working at some trashy vacant house and they were in the wall. They didn't sting me but it was unpleasant. The trouble with the sliding doors is that it's a wrestling match to get them to slide and my wife doesn't like them. The key being she doesn't like them. She wants French doors. Enough said. I'd probably just keep them but we all know how that goes. Why fight a battle that you know you'll lose. Just bust out the white flag and admit defeat. French doors it is!! Now I have to replace 4 sets of sliding doors with the French ones. That may be more unpleasant than the carpenter bees attacking me. $$$

If I'm lucky it knocks them down so I can step on them. Sometimes they still fly off -- tough little buggers. Never been stung by one (yet!).

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
My kids, used to catch the carpenter bees. Then put them in the freezer, once cold they would tie a thread around them. Once they warmed up they take em for fly on the thread. I used to have a bunch of flying around with thread for weeks.....

The container doesn't need to be clear. They really work. Just tell your wife they die a blissful death dreaming of boring 3/8" holes in soft wood for eternity
