Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Doing good.
Mine's kind of in ''paint jail'' as I'm not satisfied with the spraycan color being a correct factory ''Fawn.'' Taking my chances with Duplicolor ''Light Driftwood Sand.''

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
OK. My '68 Stepside was 516 Orange outside and inside, but with a silver Fawn trim -- door panels, visors, seat vinyl, belts, dash pad, column and wheel.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Yes, really nice work on that steering wheel. I never thought about epoxy to fill the cracks. What paint is used? I would think things like finger rings would mark up a painted wheel pretty easy.

Single stage white over saddle fawn poly . I believe they are all interchangable .

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
I'm old and fat, so swapping everything out on the front is killing my back. Fronts dropped 4 1/2" and the back is on a 5" springs, I have a 1" rear drop block to install still so it will be a 4.5/6 drop when I'm done.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Hey I'm old and fat too, which is why my truck is up in the garage remaining at stock ride height while I'm down here laying in bed watching HDTV and playing with my smartphone.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Yes that wheel turned out real good.
My truck came with the original steering wheel and it was in good shape but I replaced it with a Grant because that's what everybody else was doing. Then I threw it in the trash because it never occurred to me to keep it. Oops. |
