Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
I just read through your whole build thread. I must say, great build, very motivating.
I just got a 65 Stepside SBW last mth, its needs alot of work, and your build gives me alot of ideas. Its my DD right now, but when my 89 mustang gets outta the body shop, I will start driving it more and pull the truck into the garage and start working on the rust and other things. -John |

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
Could you give me the dimensions of the Blazer tank? Did you have to cut the frame any to get it in there? I am going to raise my bed floor about 7" to clear my suspension and would like to to have as little tank below the frame as possible.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
If your going to raise your floor why not raise the tank also?

If your bed floor is going up 7" you should be able to tuck the tank almost all the way up inside the frame.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
I was thinking about just dropping it in on top of the frame rails if it would fit. I found on LMC that the tank was about 28" wide but I assume that was the flange and not the actual tank. Mine is a long bed and the crooked crossmember has been removed because of the bridge notch.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
Got the stainless brake lines plumbed. The kit is from Inline Tube. It fit great but they don't make a conversion for rear disk. I had to make some custom bends on the ends and luckily the Baer brake kit came with braided hoses with banjo fittings.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
Here's how it sits at the moment. Planning the engine build has taken a while, especially since I've never touched an LS motor.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
It is new-ish. It's got 25000 miles on it but took it out and painted it, put new freeze plugs in it, worked the stock heads, new intake, headers, water pump, oil pump, etc. I'm trying to get rid of it now. I just thought the LS2 fit the build better and I'm interested in the LS fuel injected stuff. Basically curiosity is the reason for the change.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
The stainless brake line kit was for a 66 short bed with a disk conversion. The Baer brake kit was the Track Plus 13" rear set up.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
Thanks guys. The LS2 weighs 100 lbs less and will have 100 ft lbs. more torque. It's draining my wallet but the whole project is far beyond what ever budget I had in mind in the first place. This is how things snowball out of control, I guess. I still don't have a transmission but I think I can get a T56 for a decent price or drop a little more for a tko-500. Not sure yet.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
I've had my eye on the burbs for while. It's either that or a 63 fleet bbw. damn it. it's got ahold of me.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
Brand new L92 heads from a 6.2 liter. They flow like crazy in stock form and are pretty cheap. $650 for new assembled aluminum heads that flow 320 cfm @ .550 lift out of the box. Serious flow from a stock head. The valves are 2.16 intake and 1.59 exhaust.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.
Thanks. The other projects keep eating into my truck time so there's been little progress lately. I should have the other time sucker done by August(hopefully) and then it will be full speed ahead on the truck. I want to wait till there's no distractions and I have all the parts to build the engine. I have 95% of the parts already, but I have to sell the 350 and T-5 first before I can get another trans. I'll post it on CL soon so it shouldn't be long till I have the tko 500 on my doorstep.
