Re: Porterbuilt Dropmember

I have so many questions with this build and will start a thread when I get further in on the build, but right now I am trying to start at the frame. Suspension work is always a pain in my butt ( considering I'm a mechanic on heavy haul trucks ) so when I think of suspension work I instantly curse and get out the torch and hammer lol! I have never built a restored a vehicle so it has all been a learning experience for me.

I have a guy at my work that used to build show cars, trucks, and bikes that were award winning when he lived in Vegas, so he gets most of my questions. Trying to get him to help me with my build or even pointers on painting my truck is like pulling teeth!

Riley-

Lolife99 did a good job explaining this. As mentioned, it's the suspension geometry's design that dictates the amount of camber the suspension gets. On our Extreme kits, we have a very minimal camber gain built in. This keeps the front wheels fairly upright throughout the travel (more so than any other kit on the market that I have seen). I designed it this way, so that the truck "looked right" when it's laying on the ground (and riding low). Nothing catches the eye quicker than a cambered over wheel when the truck is aired out.

With that said, we also offer a handful of other geometry configurations that do have a much more aggressive camber curve... for those more interested in performance than laying frame.

Feel free to shoot us a call at the shop one of these days and we can spend some time with you on the phone to help clarify and answer any questions you might have.

This one received the coil-over kit. Del is building another Unibody with the airbag set-up.

On the airbag set-up the front clip is similar to the 55-59 Chevy kit. The shock runs outboard behind the upper control arm.

Nate, the Ford kits are turning out killer!! 67-72chevytrucks.com may have to let the Ford guys occupy some "front seating", cuz the Ford guys are going to eat this stuff up!!

Ford or Chevy... If it's cool, I'm in
