Driveline E-brake
Quote:
Have you thought about an e-brake on the drive-line. I know Toyota Landcruisers come that way stock. They use a drum brake on the end of the transfer case output shaft, then the drive line bolts to the brake drum. You could do the same thing with a rotor/caliper set-up from a motorcycle. Bill |

Piper, I need your email. PM it if you don't wanna go public...
Bill, great minds think alike, I've been looking into the disc/driveline thing. I've even seen street rods that run alternators off the driveline... Rg

I reposted some of the lost pics, look at the start of the thread.
I finally put some of this together and bent my brake lines. I decided to put in new hoses and brake lines instead fo the dirt encrusted relics that were on there. The worst part was I used 1987 Camaro front caliper hoses and they have a GM metric Bubble flare and since NO shop in Murray had the tools to make a bubble flare (what is this Bum Fork, Egypt?) I had to splice the brake lines to make it all work. I will gather the hose part #'s and hard line #'s and post them soon. I had hoped to keep the price below $250 but the hoses and hard lines ran me $98. At least I'm below $300 including the Master cylinder and correct proportioning valve... Rg

Man, this is an old post...
They are from the rear, the front off of the Seville have the hub built in (like the 71-up chevy trucks) The rears are the slip on "hat" style. Rg

raggedjim - did you ever determine if your brackets would work with the eldorado brackets? I'm wanting to get some rear discs but so far all I've bought are the eldorado calipers with the integrated parking brakes...
Thanks.

FirstGen, you can always do the TSM route, they have brackets and 6-lug rotors for $239.

Yeah $350 is just a little steep for some brackets and rotors, plus I already have some rotors. I'm really only interested in making or buying some brackets... Do you sell them that way? Thanks.

You have to remember that the 350 is to your door.
Brackets and rotors are heavy to ship. Sorry we don't sell just the brackets.

Yeah, I understand I just don't see spending the money on something I can buy at any autozone (rotors).
