Low87, that is a good looking Blazer. Can't wait to see it finished.
I like that plaid myself...just not in my truck.

Definitely need to find a replacement for the original push button radio. No cassette, but at least the FM is there!

Thanks Mike! Going to have to try some of your improvement mods on this one.
Brandon, that is a definite yes! Don't they have that Dallas swap meet in Sept also? There hasn't been a good swap meet in this area in a long time.

I think they do. It depends on who is putting it on. Dean Earhart had some issues with Ball Park in Arlington some time back and Great Southwest is usually the one to go to at that time.

WELCOME TO THE 2WD CLUB!! I have had mine for about 8 months and love it more and more as I build it!! Looks like you've got a good one to build up!!! Mine is a '76 Cheyanne (sp?) and I have started taking the woodtrim stuff out as well. I had contemplated ordering new trim pieces when I'm ready for paint but as N2TRUX said...I've yet to find a place that has quality pieces so I may nix the trim when the paint goes on...
Anyways....welcome aboard and be ready for LOTS of looks and comments when you get it on the road, LOTS of people don't know they made 2WD Blazers... I get questions just about everytime I stop for gas.... |

What do you call 2 dumba$$es that can't read a post right?
C&C Chevy and Dave! I posted 2 other Blazers for sale near C&C since he said he was looking for one. I bought mine in Tulsa. No puking C&C, those are both available as far as I know.

Is your's dropped? I want mine down a couple inches. The rear suspension must be weak or something because the truck sits dead level & feels like the front is higher when driving it. Might be something else to look at.

Yeah mine is dropped 5/5, but I'll probably be dropping the front another inch since the rear tends to "squat" a tad. I am planning on taking the top off this weekend since the weather is nice here...can't wait!!!

You can see in this picture how the back tends to squat......

Maybe the squat will go away after the top comes off.

Don't know, how much do the tops weigh?

150 lbs. Maybe? Seems like it is a 2 person job, but it has been a while. I always had 73-75's, so the top is a little heavier.

The top weight, I would bet at least 100-150 pounds. As far as adhesive and trim go...My Blazer has little square clips with adhesive on them holding the trim tight.

One thing to watch out for...be careful not to damage or destroy the gasket that is between the top and the tub. If it is in bad shape, or you damage it, you might have water problems when you put the top back on.
Don't forget to unplug the rear domelight before you remove the top. The access panel is directly behind the drivers seat. Make sure the rear window is down too before removal. I am not talking down to you, but I have made some pretty stupid mistakes when it comes to stuff like this.
