Yesterday started putting the side molding on the 71' and also got the rally wheels put on the back. Big improvement!

Ran out of gas about 1/4 mile from the gas station. The funny part was, I was on the way to get gas. I have an aux tank that the sender is broke on, and my cab tank is out of the truck waiting to be reinstalled. What made it worse was that I had my 3 year old son with me, so I couldn't really walk down the highway. Did I mention my wife had my cell phone? Anyway, some nice guy stopped, I used his phone, and my neighbor brought me some gas.
Then, the gasket-ey ring thing thing that goes between the exhaust manifold and the tail pipe blew out, so I was running REALLY loud. Got a new metal ring for it, but broke a stud talking it apart. Was in no mood to fix it, so I put the new ring in, tightened the two remaining bolts and am calling it good for now. It's quieter than it was before, though. ![]()

Went recreational junk-yardin. Was 50% off day. Got the 2nd row shoulder and lap belts out of an 88 burb for 18$! They are even blue!

Invited everyone here down for a party. Bought lots of beer and brats. Only one person showed so I drank ALOT of beer~! Washed the burb.
BIG BONUS. Moved the Red Rocket for the first time in weeks. I was shure I had blown a head gasket as it was not running worth a crap and back firing like crazy. Took the air cleaner off to take a look around and the Distributor Cap was 1/2 way off~! Do not know how this happened. Put it back on and it ran great. (except where the backfire blew a manifold gasket~! |

Went to Pigeon Forge, Talked about gman69 changing hks new water pump in Oriely's parking lot on the way. Spent Saturday looking/drolling over cool trucks and meeting a nunch of cool poeple. I can say it takes about 8 board members to removed an aftermarket radio antenna and replace it with a NOS one.

Made my new custom LED tail, reverse, and front lights, i'll be posting some pics in the FAQ section soon hopefully.
In addition i modded my frame and motor mounts to accomodate the 3" forward shift i'm doing... still gotta cut/weld/drill the motor mounts for what i consider 'adequate' strength and contact (3 mount holes on top and bottom)

I'm in the middle of flip flopping engines: 350 TPI from 84 blazer to 72 GMC/327 from GMC to blazer.
Had the aluminum radiator fixed....poked a hole in it when I pulled the engine from teh blazer Installed teh 327 into the blazer and reinstalled the tranny (what a pain that was) Started on fabing up accessory brackets: the 327 doesn't have accessory holes in the head and it has a short water pump on it, so things didn't really fit easily. Installed the lower intake manifold on the 350 Power washed the 350 Ported the upper intake Started polishing the intake. Got the fuel rails done and installed. Made several trips to home depot and the parts store for misc. things Tonight: Finish power steering pump bracket, install headers, carb, wiring, and fire the blazer up! OK, probably won't get all that done, but should get close. |

Put a new diamond cover on the tail gate on the '86. Did not get the tail gate complety closed. Used 3M double sided tape and was on my way to town and the gate fell down and the "new" cover fell off and a school bus ran over it.

I fired up the truck and backed it out onto the driveway, then cleaned up the garage a little. I'm "thinking" about starting to work on it again. As you can see it pretty much just needs blocking/paint and reassembly. Never seem to have the time though. Oh well, its a start...... baby steps. Maybe I should start a poll....... "Should I start working on my truck again?" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Not a lot. Drove it around a while, which for me is huge. I fixed the wire for the gas gage and it works for the first time in like ever. Oh yeah, I installed my radio, amp/equalizer and heater controls. Fixed most of the under dash wiring snarl. Thats about it. Oh wait, I also got insurance so I'm legal now for the road.
Then I also listed like 30 items on ebay, put some more sheet rock up in the garage, grilled two meals, 4 loads of laundry, and had a nice open fire and made smores with the family ( I am the king stud marshmallow roaster, perfect golden brown everytime). Thats about it I guess. ![]() HG
