Order one from Jegs. Order one from Summit. When the one from Summit comes in, return it to Jegs.

I like Jegs. I have seen a lot of items in Jegs cheaper than Summit. Don't know what service people are like, but when I bought a couple seats from them, they only charged me for one seat, probably 40 dollar savings . Can you say good deal????? Also the shipping was really really fast, 2 days for seats and 4 days for seat covers and steering wheel.

Man there are some funny and hilarious people here...

For all of you that care, guess what?

I did get JEGS to match the price and I will be receiving it in 4 days! How about them apples.

My BEEF was with their pledge to customer satisfaction! Not who had it in stock, back up your words! that's it...

283, jim walker, big block- what could you buy with an extral $200 bucks? How about purchasing a universal 3" Xpipe kit, and energy suspension body mount kit for a 71 suburban. Yeah, I am whining and taking this a bit too far, all the way to the bank with the money I saved, that is. The same thing that everyone has the right to, what is promised to the customer.

anyway, just wanted to share with the good people on the board...so there you go.

I am also willing to bet that JEGS re-writes their policy to include "must be an in stock item..."

I grew up in columbus when he started. My friend sued him when the parts they recommended didn't even come close to fitting ,then they said they wouldn't refund at all. He got the refund after he had to sue. I was with them when their Dodge expert even came out and looked at the car. That gave me a bad feeling so I stayed with the ROD SHOP.

I think you misunderstood me. When I said you were taking this a wee bit too far, I meant the way you were getting all worked up and acting like a 13 year old whos parents didn't buy him a candy bar when they went to the store. If you go back and read your post, you are pretty riled up over this...and getting pissed at those who didn't agree with you 100%.

I DO AGREE you should have gotten the part for the cheaper price, I just thought your attitude sucked and you needed to calm down a little.

I have been working in the customer service field for 16 years, people who treat others the way you were talking in this thread typically don't get very far, but people who act in a professional manner and can TALK to people typically make better progress. I bet if you went to your local speed shop, acted decent, and asked for them to do the same...they just might have...and you might hve had these parts even sooner. MOST businesses will do this.

Calm down, and good luck with helping your dad (and spending the extra $200).

EDIT: On a side note, I bet Summit raises their price when it becomes available...and Jegs throws in a disclaimer (like you mentioned).

Jeff, No harm no foul. I too have been in the retail business for over 16 years. I did "act" professionally and talked to and treated the person on the other end of the conversation with respect and the common courtesies that they deserved. However, when a low level managment goon starts droning on and on and not showing me the respect.... well that IS where I got riled up. That is what sent me over the edge, so to speak last night... the manager that I talked to this morning, Les, was cool, nice, and very professional, as I was to him, as I was driving into work.

I am absolutely positive that everyone has had that experience where you were in a conversation with another person about a part or what not, and then you stop and they floor you with their ignorance or.... a blatent lie and your jaw drops, and you are left with not much else to say because they stand between you and what you KNOW is right and should be yours.

I am the type of person who does not stand up much for problems that arise in my radar... I have always fought for what has been done or is going on with others... call it a character flaw on my part, or what ever. But childish, no. Overreacting, not at all. Further more, I like it when there is a good conversations like this, but, no I am not mad at ya...

On a side note, I ordered this part over a month ago with Summit and told them the reason I was ordering it with them was that theirs was 200 cheaper. The salesman couldnt believe it either... he told me that was their price and has been their price, on top of that I had him verify that their products were indeed the same piece, in regards to what came inside the box. We both had a good laugh about it then, as to the price difference. maybe it will be raised at summit once in stock, not my call. I know I would jack it back up.

anyway, I could go on for ever here... but its over now....

special-K...do you really think I meant that I was only sharing this with the "good" people on the board? Why do people read into things like this sooooo much? I couldnt agree more, with whomever edited that though, I was saying the same thing... I am sharing this with the good people of this board. I dont think there is a bad apple in the bunch here, and when there is, they get chased away!

Anyway, thanks for the support!

Summit has been the best bet for me but if there is a considerable price difference I will take no matter where it is at.
Every yar Summit is a sponsor of Hot August Nights and the last two years they have started a free shipping and 10% discount during HAN. If you don't need it now and can wait until August you can save considerably.

Also, AutoZone is supposed to be issuing a discount card through November. For every purchase over $20 they satmp your card. After your get five stamps you get a $20 certificate. so on your way home stop by AZ and buy $20 of what you need. The next day do the same. After five days you get $20 free. This is a 20% savings just like the AZ employees.

Hey cornutz I work hard for my money too so if you could save 200 dollars regardless of what you had to do, do it. By the way, in Texas, it is called deceptive trade practices and you can sue for triple damages. I do not know in your neck of the woods.
