Re: What did you get done?
I attended the Southern Super Heavy Shootout at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia this weekend www.sshs5.com. It was an absolute blast. A great roadtrip, hung out with great people, not enough sleep, too much to drink, and way too much time in the car, but I am ready to do it all again next year. Hopefully I will have suspension and a big turbo in my Lincoln to make it worthy.

Re: What did you get done?
It's been since last Christmas, but I finally used my Summit gift card and picked up my exhaust system. Summit headers, Hooker Mandrel bent dual exhaust kit, summit turbo mufflers.
I'm stoked! Now all I need is the time to install it. And a Mallory CD ignition and hotter coil. (and time to install it!) I have a Edelbrock Performer intake and just need time to install it! The family is gonna hate me at Thanksgiving! - Dave

Re: What did you get done?
Nothing on the truck, but replaced a pane of glass in the garage and fixed a leaking facet in the kitchen. Today i'm picking up two doors that have the power windows and locks to convert my truck from manual.

Re: What did you get done?
I faught with the two top bell housing bolts with no luck. I will engage in battle again this weekend, as I'm ready to complete my first engine swap while we have this unseasonably warm fall weather.

Re: What did you get done?
I started to fix an exhaust leak on saturday and by sunday all I had done was broke one stud, punch myself in the mouth when the stud broke and got hit in the head by a pinecone. By sunday evening I still had the exhaust leak. My eleven year old came out and through some inquisitive questions of his, I determined I went about this all the wrong way and found the leak and $6 and 25 minutes later it was fixed, why didn't he help saturday morning? I would have never tried to take the driver side pipe loose from the manifold.

Re: What did you get done?
I sprayed and mounted my roll pan on Sunday. Saturday I had the ol' girl in the shop, trying to find a bad pulsating vibration. We lifted the arse off the ground and I turned it up to 80kph, but Jim (my mechanic brother) couldn't tell where it was coming from. After removing the DS, we tried again. Gone. So when we removed the diff cover, the magnet looked like it was growing hair, there was so much bearing material. The old Timex was on its last legs anyway. Far too much wear all around to just replace the bearing.
So that needs to be replaced next. I guess I'll be JY'ing.

Re: What did you get done?
Gotta love these posts!
Last week week mid week i tore down the front end on my 79 K5. Installed new MOOG balljoints...into my d44 flat top knuckles and installed the knuckles.Assembled new superior super joints in my new chrome moly axleshafts. Dropped the old steering gear box and installed a custom built unit with a 2wd sector shaft for my cross over steering. Removed the dead 10b Auburn LS. Stopped at that point because i ran out of parts...waiting on new ARB locker.... and a few other items.Spent the weekend sick with a fevor for a couple of days with the creepy cruds. The rest of the week has been spent in the yard cleaning before we see snow and hoping it will sell the house. Tomorrow i will see a lawyer for my articles of orginization for my LLC....Wright Oilfield Services...and hopefully all these costly vechicle repairs and upgrades can be written off.Being a tech all my life i'm hoping to do a sub company to bill my LLC for all vehicle repairs i do and right it off.Still learning this stuff though... The 2wd 79 K5 still resides in the back yard...but i got the paperwork off to some friends in delta who will be able to get the previous owner to sign a colorado title release so i can get her in my name....so i can junk the rusty body and start looking for an 87 up relacement body.... Sorry no pics...but bigblock says he is going to teach me how to pull that one off. Doug W.

Re: What did you get done?
I got absolutely nothing done in the garage last weekend. I got to get the Super 6.5L turbo diesel Suburban swap done before it gets too cold. I did fly down DFW Friday AM to spend the weekend at Texas Motor Speedway for the races at our company suite though….well, most of races anyway. The Friday night truck race was awesome, Saturday’s race was cool too….. but I missed Sunday’s big race as I was enroute back home before it was over as I had a early Monday AM flight out to CA.
