Hidden from view but easily accessible. I still need to find a location for the gauge. I want to back load it into the center section of my idiot gauges, but I'm a little concerned at how it will look with a "black" rectangle in the middle of the white gauges.

Use a piece of frosted, (sandblasted on back-side) plexiglas, or thin vinyl stock & let it shine through from the back. When it's off nobody knows about it, but when it's on you can see it easily.

Just a thought,

Later,

Unfortunately for this solution... gauge faces are white, otherwise that would work.

White would work best, (that's what I thought you had, have, anyway).

Maybe I should have asked this first;

Are you using a digital gauge for the Air pressure? If so, blah blah blah. If not, why not?

I think I misunderstood, then. I had thought about, with a black gauge, hiding the black (because it is not lit) face of the digital gauge behind a transparent part of the center "idiot gauge circle"... so it would be black until the blue LED segments lit up. On a white face, this would appear as a black rectangle through the transparent area. I think that if I blasted the area, it would still look fairly dark with the "white" plastic and the blackness behind it, and I doubt I'd be able to read the LEDs any more.

Or... I may still not understand what you're describing.

Maybe just test it by using a white trash sack or wal-mart bag. You can probably get it to look real good by adjusting the distance between the plastic & the face of the gauge. The tricky part would be mounting it while it's "floating" behind there.

Or, maybe I don't know what I'm talking about

Later,

Buddy
