it was 9" from bottom of the frame to bottom of the notch. if u were to put a bump stop in the notch it and the frame would hit at the same time. then u could put some 2" blocks and u should have it.

so close but yet so far. i thought id put the cab and bed on to see how things were lining up then fenders and co

good job man, looks awesome. I know how you feel. I had to scrap my first notch too, but it will be worth it in the end.

I prefer complete box tube frames too, but its not always feasible to do.

That funny this came up after my post. That style notch is what I first started with and didn't like the way it looked, so tore it off and am now in the middle of doing an all box tube notch. Agree with all, looks much better. The plate notches I see usually end up looking like an appendage!
There are some exceptions. Heres one from SD. |

i did really do a notch it was a lot easier and ithink it is cleaner. i just need to do the 4 link and reenforce with some tubing. (TUBING) is that word funny or what say a few times.
some more pics the neighbor kid havin fun with the paint striper the 65 we are also doing starting the smooth fire wall on the 67 |
