Re: 4WD to 2WD frame swaps
Im going to try and cut down an extra longwheelbase 2wd truck frame i got laying around to a blazer wheelbase and see what happens as far as body mounts etc, this might be an easier route to take. we'll see.... great info thanks gringo

Re: 4WD to 2WD frame swaps
Question for people who have done a 2wd crossmember swap.....what bolt hole lined up? I have measured and measured against stock 2wd trucks and am still not sure that I have the crossmember in the correct place. Its tough to tell with the frame bing an inch hight than a 2wd...will know better when I get the steering stuff in place but it looks pretty close now...maybe a little too far back if anything.

Re: 4WD to 2WD frame swaps
Dont rely on any holes lining up for correct position, if I remember right the crossmember hole ended up just forward of the frame hole. just make sure the shock clears the upper a-arm and the centerlink clears the front of the crossmember before you drill any holes

Re: 4WD to 2WD frame swaps
good suggestions....dont have any shocks or steering on it yet
Any way you could measure against something...like the factory rear leaf spring bushing hole.....or anything for that matter...this thread needs concrete measurements
