Re: FS: '70 SWB chassis, ECE drop, FCG tank, Discs

Thank you. This will speed up my restoration, and leave me with nothing more than the body prep for painting, and some other odds and ends.

This too was a concern, but upon closer inspection of the picture you will notice that he doesn't have the lowering block on the right side yet.

Also, if you look at pic #4, that crossmember is mounted at an angle(front to back) from the factory. I think that's what's making it look off. Nice frame chassis.

Kieth,
I copied the pic and if you take a look I circled the lowering block on the PS, IT IS there but is almost behind the track bar mount. I too was seriously intersted in the frame, but with no confirmation from Bowtie I was not jumping on just yet. Good luck with and I hope it works out great for you!!!

Yeah that x member does that sometimes, but you are looking in the wrong place. Look at the diff in height of the rails using the rear rims as a guide(circled also in red in above pic) There is at least 1-1 1/2" diff. I would not ask out in the open about this unless I was sure something was not right. I see a tweaked frame from the pics, just my .02...Randy

Well Randy, I checked and there is a difference of 1/4" between the two sides...but that difference is present at the end of the frame rail as well as over the axle tube and forward of it. I discussed it with the new owner and we determined that it wasnt "tweaked" but the new suspension components were not settled and tightened down. Im sure the difference will work itself out when the cab and bed are installed and everything is torqued down.

I honestly didnt think you were interested. one9six9 lives around the corner from me and called and came over before I could post my findings. If you had said "im interested but id like to know why the frame rails are..." then it would be a different story I think. Thanks for pointing it out though as I would have felt bad if the new owner had actually found something wrong AFTER the sale. So no PMs were sent and no rules were broken...at least I hope not.

Re: FS: '70 SWB chassis, ECE drop, FCG tank, Discs

I didn't mean to sound harsh about the deal, and if I did sorry. Not referring to this one but I have lost out on a few parts I really wanted by behind the scenes sales , and I quoted the rules due to me hard feelings on that subject. I did not jump in line,( I understand you have to state you want it not just a question) and wanted some clarification b-4 I committed to the deal. As far as the frame maybe it was the angle of the pic, but it just didn't look right to me. I honestly hope it is all good for you and the new owner....Randy

Fuel cell is still for sale. Im asking $525 shipped. In tank pump will handle LTx and LSx engines as well as most other EFI setups.
