Re: How much does your truck cost?
got 9k in mine and it still looks the same on the outside, sept for 150 dollar rally wheels. luckly there is little body work that will need to be done, and only minor cab work, rockers only need patched and kick panels need replaced, body shop quoted me 1500 to pull dents fix cab and sand and primer.

Re: How much does your truck cost?
I never count.I buy what I can when I can.I keep reciepts and could count it all up when done, but never have. It`s not about the money.I don`t really want to know.I just try to be practicle when buying parts. But,if I see what I need and it`s rare, the money saved in frugleness gets used up for the primo stuff.I`ve never worked on one at a time, either.Maybe that`s why I don`t keep track. It`s like eating.I have no idea what I spend on food.I eat when I`m hungry. If I have a little money,I eat what`s cheapest. When I have alot of money I eat what tastes best.

Re: How much does your truck cost?
I have right around $26,000.00 in mine and it's a pile of parts sitting in a storage unit. One day I'll get it out and start working on it so I can dump more money in it to get it finished.

Re: How much does your truck cost?
Mine costs me about $200/year to insure, another $60 or so for taxes, $30 for registration, and whatever I spend on fuel *if* I drive it.
All kidding aside, I will probably have $10-12k when I decide I am "done". It will not be show quality but that's not what I want anyway. I think I have between $3k and $4k in it now.

Re: How much does your truck cost?
Truck = $6,500
New Pushrod, Roller Rocker, and valve cover gaskets = 100 Future Build List = $4,800 and growing Does not include paint (expecting 5-10k) I'm hoping to get out with under 20k, but not gonna cut any corners. As my neighbor says, "just throw more money at it!! That'll get it done."

Re: How much does your truck cost?
you can build em pretty cheap if ya can do some or all of the work yourself, thats one reason i love these trucks they are easy to work and they are everywhere. when i get this one done ill build another.and when i get it done ill build another, and so forth and so on, the only other vehicle i would ever build is a corvair, converted to Front engine rear wheel drive

Re: How much does your truck cost?
I'm with you on that. My Dad has had 7 of them (still has a '65 convertable) and I have always wanted to put a smallblock in the front of one, make it look factory done.

Re: How much does your truck cost?
I’m afraid to add it up. Even if I don’t have a heart attack from the shock I don’t need any incriminating evidence around for the wife to see.

I have never kept a receipt on any project for fear of knowing how much I am spending.

Re: How much does your truck cost?
I bought the truck for $2000 I applied a temporary drivable fix (about 200 overall) that is now pointless as the teardown is underway... lol
So far: Carpet -- 100 P/S Geerbox -- 40 A/C Controls -- 40 (may sell in future) Planned expenses: Bed -- ~ $2500 altogether (aquire and refinish) A/C -- ~ $1200 planning on Vintage Air Front Clip -- ~$700? (have grill and core support.. inner and outers are trash) Gofast Stuff -- ~$2500 (heads, manifold, headers, cam) Tools -- ~ $400 (small welder, a few needed hand tools) Seat -- ~ $250? (I remember seeing some decent late model benches around this price at Carlisle) Instruments -- ~$300 (haven't worked out details yet) camaro gas tank -- ~ $400 (2 for the tank and allowing 2 more for.. well.. whatever) Temp paint -- ~ $200 Matterials -- ~ $400 (fillers, cabinet materials for speakers, daynomat, etc.) Planned but unknown expenses: Donor truck for brakes, etc. (unknown.. in the market for a 73 - 87 heap soon but I'll post in the proper place when I'm ready) Add it up and I'm at just over $12k plus the unknown cost of a parts bucket and I'll toss in $2000 for various whatnots I'll need that I don't know about yet. Let's call it $15k with a homespun paintjob.
