Re: 6 cylinder offset air cleaner - different?

I'm pretty sure your's is NOT newer than a 72, because I believe 73 is when the intake became integral with the head.
As others have mentioned there is slight difference between the setups for 71/72 (throttle-cable) and 67-70 (throttle rod).

Cannot answer why the blue paint, I have never seen blue used at the factory for the 72 and earlier.

This came off a 71 250 I bought for parts. I needed starter, alternator,etc.
Has been in the shop for about 4 months. If you really need it make me an offer. It's really heavy.

Re: 6 cylinder offset air cleaner - different?

Here is a pic of the setup on my 69. Some things are the same, some are different. ?WHY? My throttle linkage is different, but the manifolds appear to have the same mountings. ?WHY?
I've seen both set-ups on other 6 banger trucks, so they both appear to be factory items.

Re: 6 cylinder offset air cleaner - different?

you have the mounting for the choke on your intake manifold, like mine AND you have the one on the exhaust manifold. I don't know what that vacuum module is or what the bolt immediately to it's left is doing????? whew! ??????????s

Don't want to confuse this thread more than it already is, but at one time, I had what I thought was a 292 set up with this throttle linkage bracket. Were 250's and 292 exhaust & intakes the same?
