Re: New guy from central New York
Real nice blazer you have. Welcome aboard! I had a 80' vette also but I like the Jimmy much better.
When you get around to taking more pics PLEASE, PLEASE take some close up pics of the tube bars under the doors. This is what I have been looking for. I would imagine they are custom mounted so I am very interested in the details. Thanks. Aaron

Re: New guy from central New York
The trip to Michigan sounds awesome...especially since I just saw those pic posted by another member. When is it? I'd want to make sure any bugs are worked out of the blazer...I only drove it up and down the road twice. I'll post some pics of the bars when I get her out of storage. I can tell you this, they flex quite a bit when I step on them, but I'm about 270lbs.

Re: New guy from central New York
Good God! If I knew you better, I'd tell you you were both nuts! The amount of work you two have put in is awesome. I was thinking of putting a wood floor in the back of my blazer...thought it would look cool. What are your thoughts? I'd install it over the existing floor. What color you going to go with on your rig?

Re: New guy from central New York
I put the wood floor in there because at the time I couldn't find a good steel floor, then about 6 months ago one shows up in NJ, even same color. Go figure!
Don't know about putting it on top, but my guess is that you would have issues with the wheelhouses. I modified mine slightly to get it to work. Plus the transitions front and rear. I used a '73 and up rear crossmember because it had a little notch in it that fit the wood perfectly Color? I'm thinking two tone, using the early trim to create the panel. Probably back to the original dark metallic green and white

Re: New guy from central New York
I was thinking of doing the same thing...putting a white section on the side with the blazer lower mouldings, but I think you'd have to modify some upper truck mouldings. Have you looked into that? What would you need to do?
