Re: new from washington state 70 blazer
got some new things done today with my blazer.... basically removed all of the front clip exept for the radiator support and replaced with actuall 1970 peices got some fenders from a buddy over in port orchard wa. and he let me work on it at his garage and helped me get it back together. worked out pretty well since he is changing his 70 truck into a 68 and i am turning my 68 blazer back into a 70 ....... didnt know how many peices were diff between the two years. either way i got the fenders on the grill on and the new latch for the hood changed out. got a whitish left fender and a black and silver right one and a green hood. cant get much uglier but soon i will be getting more done to it... found my problem with my wiring. when i got everythign apart found a bunch of wires were melted through. seems the po is a pos.... and forgot to fix it before selling..... oh well looks like a complete rewire is in the making...... sorry bout no pics the wife is going to the rascal flats concert tonight and i let her take the camera so i will have more up pretty soon so you can see how ugly my green monster is....... well my multi colored monster now....

Re: new from washington state 70 blazer
I finally have it installed and am very happy with the Summit wiring harness I ordered. It has 18 circuits so I had extra for add ons and lots of expansion capability. I was worried about wire lenght and only the right rear tail lamp wires were to short. All the rest worked out great. It made for an easy install and I used a number of the extra circuits for different uses.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku I would recommend it for a replacment but it will take some serious time to install. Since mind has many extra options and I went with waterproof connectors for all connections there was definatly extra time involved but I would plan for a long weekend. John |

Oh ya, that looks much better! Maybe when I'm home in May I can stop by and look at it in person. I live right over by the Fairgrounds.

Re: new from washington state 70 blazer
so got the other two fenders painted same as the hood the other day.... and i just bought a wire harness from saint wire.... is a kwik wire 14 heavy duty.... hopefully will do what i need. was only 219.00 and should have everything i need. i will let you guys know what i think when i get done wireing... i will also put some pics up of the painted front fenders soon. seems i may have a transmission problem that decided to show itself about 3 weeks after i bought it... so looks like i will be getting someone to rebuild my th350 as well.... may take a bit to save up for that since my ol lady got canned last week.... anyways that is where i am and will post pics soon.....

reason i got the wire kit here are some of the fenders painted.... nothing like krylon for paint huh... yeah i know its crap but i know nothing about painting and i plan on doing a real paint job once i get everything working the way it is supposed to and i get all the rust out of it. till then krylon will work for me. Re: new from washington state 70 blazer
so i havent been on here in a while... i guess this is my official return... over the last year i have been doing a frame swap because my frame was bent and had already been welded back together from the looks of it.
i ended up picking up a nother blazer body and frame for 400 bucks which had a few goodie extra parts so i jumped on it... well a year later and i got it back together... enough to put on a trailer and tow back to my house anyways... here are some pictures of the donor i picked up got some good cut doors and a set of utility bucket seats with it... he wouldnt part with the grill though. but the tranny and tcase were newly rebuild so still not a bad deal |
