Re: Bazooka's 63 build thread.
Ok guys, next step in my project is done. The new engine is installed and runs like a freakin champ.
It's a mild 350 sbc. .040 over with a RV cam. Sounds really good very smooth with a very subtle performace idle. Everything under the hood is now new/rebuilt. Feels nice to have a reliable Engine. Like I said it's a very mild engine but takes very little effort to break the rear tires loose. The difference is night and day the old engine was pretty tired. Anyway here's some pictures.. We all like pictures.. I plan to dress up the engine with some cal customs finned valve covers and a chrome louvered Air Cleaner a little later.. Here's a before shot of the old tired engine and messy engine compartment.. Here's my dirty old engine out on the ground. Here's the new engine and clean engine compartment. Re: Bazooka's 63 build thread.
Looks real good....nice and clean and simple.
Could I ask what the app is for that upper radiator hose? Or maybe even the part number (I see it's still on the hose). It looks like it fits pretty good. I prefer to use molded hoses instead of flex hoses.

Thanks SIKty-5
Hey Joe. Not yet but very soon. One of the most dramatic changes the truck will be getting is comming in the next 4 - 6 weeks. Waiting on parts suppliers right now... I'll be sure to post up pictures when the work gets started.. Last edited by Bazooka; 11-12-2008 at 07:22 PM. |

Re: Bazooka's 63 build thread.
(Quote) Whoever lowered this truck just cut the springs like a mad man with stock spindles and there is huge camber and a very bouncy ride.. thats all going to be fixed.. (End Quote)
That's a sweet looking ride you got there ) Your gonna love the ride once you get rid of those chopped factory springs. Mine only had one coil cut off and rode like it had no suspension. I replaced the coils with 3 inch drop springs and added 2 1/2 drop spindles and Doetsch Tech shocks and it rides better than my '97 Silverado now. Have fun dropping it the right way )

I live in a apartment and dont have a place to do the work myself. I think he said he's going to change the name of his shop and start to focus on Hotrods and classics. He's tired of messing with late model stuff. If he changes the name I'll let you know what he changes it too. |

Re: Bazooka's 63 build thread.
I will be posting some in progress pics of the bag job when I get some. He hasn't started yet because he is pretty busy and we haven't got the SD raised crossmember in yet. When that comes in he's going to get started. Thats another couple weeks away. While we wait he's getting some of his other customers out the door. I think he may start the rear before then though..
