That's my other truck. It's also a 79, but it's a K10 shorty. I bought it from the original owner a little over 9 years ago. It's sporting a stout 383/Th350. Come January, that'll undergo a complete restoration. I have all new GM sheetmetal for it, along with beaucoup other GM parts. The nice thing about that one is, I'll have the new bed, doors, and front clip worked and ready to be painted before I even break the first bolt loose tearing this one down.

Re: Update at the bodyshop (not dialup friendly)

10/19 Update:
Well, it's 95% done. Saturday, he shot the bed's underside with bedliner, while I built the doors. All new rubber, new LH window regulator, blasted the inside of doors with 3m self healing wax, greased window tracks, and hung the door panels. Today, I helped hang the tailgate, rear bumper and hitch, got my vent visors on, and did a little detail work. Only thing left to do is a final buff/polish, detail the interior, hang the rest of the body moulding and trim, and blast some color matching bedliner into the bed. Should be all done on Tuesday.

Re: Update at the bodyshop (not dialup friendly)

Well, it's finally done. Got the last of the mouldings on today, and he did a final polish this afternoon. Only thing now is to fix a weeping rear main seal and this thing is ready to hit the road. The only thing I did on this project I dislike are the running boards. However, because of the gravel roads I drive to and from my hunting and ATV riding spots they are a necessary evil, otherwise those rockers get blasted by gravel really bad. You'll have to excuse my photography skills and equipment (ancient camera) because these pics don't really capture the shine of that finish.
