Re: Paint Decision - what do you think?

Another thing to think of with the grey... That paint has alot of metalic and its hard to match paint later if u gotta spot paint it.. also sometimes looks splotchy.

Re: Paint Decision - what do you think?

if your going to go gumetal or a dark grey make sure you get coarse metalic for more sparkle - i got fine metalic on my soarer and it really dosnt stand out alot... and grey always looks dirty....!

or go orange.... orange fixes everything...

wat bout yellow or even bright green im thinking mopar sublime green....

Re: Paint Decision - what do you think?

I'd have to go with the "just another red one" color choice --- after all , how many crew cab SB's can there be in Lubbock, red or otherwise?

No matter what color you paint it, its gonna be different (in a good way)

Re: Paint Decision - what do you think?

Considering that Lubbock is the home of Hills Hot Rods, there is a really nice red one that has been posted on here before. They do great work and I don't want to appear to be making a copying of their truck.

Yeah...the blue is more eye-popping......but I'm a subtle paint kinda person.

The grey looks MUCH better in person, has a greenish tint to it in the sun. It's a very "simple yet classy" color.

But if you're looking for eye-catching color....that blue is definately one of my favorites.

Maybe do a bright silver and blue two tone....that always looks nice to me.

Whatever you do.....it's gonna be sweet....would really like to do a CC SWB project one day.

Re: Paint Decision - what do you think?

I personally love charcoals and gunmetals, the ygreat metallic and mica finishes in them when the sun comes across the panels. Although a big truck like that if you did the charcoal you'll def need some chrome trim and an accent stripe to break it up. I just got done painting my 83c10 and went through this for months with my buddies. A blue accented with white on top to make two-tone would get you in the eye catching ballpark just add hi-lite blue pearl in the clear and it will look sick. Silver on top would be nice as well. Here's what i did with mine the ppics don't do it justice you need to see it in the sun.

Re: Paint Decision - what do you think?

I've thought about painting my project dually:
1. chevy bermuda blue (the Blue/green)
2. chevy blue granite (blue/gray)
both colors are very different and I think would look very good on a square body.
Just my .02

Re: Paint Decision - what do you think?

How about something like that corvette gray and a white pearl, like on the new toyota camrys and lexuses? You can split up a 2 tone anyway you choose, it doesn't have to follow a body line. I think those are two classy colors. Pick out a pinstripe that breaks up the two, and that truck will be tighter than a mouses ear!

Re: Paint Decision - what do you think?

Finally got my truck back from the painter. Still have to paint and install the bed cover, and polish and install the grill trim... but it looks much better now than before.

Re: Paint Decision - what do you think?

My 90 Burb clip is dark blue metallic and white with a light blue seperation stripe. The split is on the line where your back door has the upper split. Looks really nice, would look nice with a light silver too.
