Re: Road trip from Ohio to chicago.... through my eyes.
Great road trip! Sounds similar to one I had when I went to pick up my crewcab (although Andy is better at commentary than I am, ). Can't wait to see the build thread. What are your plans?

We had a blast. Road trips are much more fun when a board members get together and take them.

Re: Road trip from Ohio to chicago.... through my eyes.
I haven't done one like this, but I did drive to NC from AZ to deliver a 68 4X4 Burb and managed to pick up a 67 454, short fleet for the return trip. Wife and kids made it fun in a non-guy trip way, but I need to do another one. I better invite Andy so he can tell the story though as I am not nearly as eloquent as he is!

Re: Road trip from Ohio to chicago.... through my eyes.
I would never do a trip like this with a wife and kids.
Totally destroy the "man" bonding stuff. Trips like this should be mandatory YEARLY for board members.

First... I recognise you put a smiley on there, and you are kidding. However, I did think long and hard about if this belonged in the 67 - 72 truck page, or in general discussion. It is a fine line. However, since the trip revolved around a 67 - 72 truck, and not a Fiat, I figured it belonged in here, and not there. I only say this, becouse someone will agree with your question, be it a joke or not. |

Re: Road trip from Ohio to chicago.... through my eyes.
Do you have any plans to write a book, based on your road trips? I really enjoyed this saga. The descriptive terms and pix make it all work. Nice job.

Maybe Classic Trucks could do an article by a amatuer.Easyriders used to do them and this would be a good one.

Re: Road trip from Ohio to chicago.... through my eyes.
Unless someone already said so, the Plymouth wagon is a '60. '61's had round taillights in chrome pods on the outside of the fenders. That Cougar looks like an XR-7, with the leather interior.
