It consists of a larger carrier bearing that sits on the bottom of the crossmember instaed of hanging from the top, and larger tube driveshafts. I'm not sure if the u-joints are different or not. I've not had any problems with the heavier driveline setup.....and I've beat on them hard too.

Is the driveshaft just from like a 71-87 truck? I'm thinking I'll be changing things too. I want to do burn outs. Without the breaking part.

These drivelines came in the C10's and the C20's. When in the C10's that may have been the standard driveline with the V8......not positive though. Most of these trucks that I've owned have had the heavier driveline. In fact I didn't know they came with the whimpy driveline until maybe 15 years ago. Most of the whimpy ones I see like that around here are in the '67-'72's. Anyway here are a couple of pics of what I'm talking about.

If you lower your truck do you use a one piece driveline? Don't they mod the top of that member?

Thanks for the pictures John! I checked I dont have that setup nor are the holes even in the bottom of the cross member.

ok time to post up again. 283 died. but got new and improved 355 sbc. forged pistons, double keyed crank, studded internals, 12pt bolts through out. billet pulleys, wiend intake, edelbrock fuel pump, chrome water pump, chrome alternator, billet alternator bracket, moroso oil pan
