Re: Parting out 71 cheyenne 1/2 LWB 4x4
I need the crossmember that goes under the transfer case and the attached skid plate. Not the transmission or engine crossmember. Do you have one?

Re: Parting out 71 cheyenne 1/2 LWB 4x4
I want to let anyone who has questions about buying parts and pieces know that I am not interested in parting the chassis any further. I am trying to keep it where someone can set a good cab onto the 4x4 chassis and go, or if the have a running driving 2wd they can swap their whole body onto this chassis.

Re: Parting out 71 cheyenne 1/2 LWB 4x4
$600 for rolling chassis with no body. Price includes NP205 for TH400 and both driveshafts. No title for this price (it is a 2wd title anyway).

Re: Parting out 71 cheyenne 1/2 LWB 4x4
One of the columns I have happens to be out of a 3/4 ton, not sure if it is a 71 or 72, though...I will look into shipping to 02646. I assume you do not want the old crusty steering wheel? This will make shipping cheaper...

Re: Parting out 71 cheyenne 1/2 LWB 4x4
On the steering column, $40 for shipping to 02646, for a total of $70. I will double check tomorrow that the shaft turn smoothly and gear shifter moves smoothly. I have two other auto non tilt columns out of 1/2 ton trucks. Does anyone know if there is any difference in 1/2 and 3/4 ton columns? As far as I know, there is not.

Re: Parting out 71 cheyenne 1/2 LWB 4x4
There is a picture of one column in this thread. This column was in a truck that did not have doors on it. The upper bearing is smooth, but the lower is stuck. I did not try any lube on it yet. The shifter works good, though. I also have another column that is in better shape. I took it out of a 72 1/2 ton when I put a tilt in it. It is in better shape. I do not have pics of it at this time. By the time I get home form work, it is already dark. i can take pics this weekend and post.

Re: Parting out 71 cheyenne 1/2 LWB 4x4
Pics of the columns. Tan is 71 3/4 ton, needs some work to free up the lower bearing. It might just need penetrating oil, or it could need a bearing. I don't know yet and have not had time to fool with it. The dark green one still in truck is 71 1/2 ton, turns freely and the gear selector is smooth but the knob end of the turn signal arm is broken. (Easy fix). The green one loose in the truck is 72 1/2 ton turns and shifts good, just needs the gear indicator replaced. Your choice $40 each (minus steering wheel) + shipping.
