Re: came across a motor

Also, if you stay with the computer, I would reccomend having a custom chip burned getting rid of VATS, and all the emission stuff, unless you want to keep it for some reason......also will need to look at what you need to do for the speedo....electric or cable type....

Re: came across a motor

I've not personally used these guys, but I've heard good reports about them

http://www.fastchip.com/

These guys we have used, and had some issues. They've been around for a long time and a lot of people use them though.

http://www.tpis.com/

There are many other places to get a chip burned too......might try googling

Re: came across a motor

I bought my harness and my computer from the guy on Chevythunder.com. He just asked for info about your engine/tranny combo other stuff. It has all worked out good for me. He sells them on ebay under the username chevy_tpi.

Re: came across a motor

64GMCHorsepower does this look like the right crossmember for the transmission? I found it on ebay for $65 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/63-72...3A1|240%3A1318
Thanks for the link Chevythunder.com I spent the entire night reading this guys website. I think he in OKC.
Same thanks goes out to Captainfab for the links also. I check them both out and found http://www.fastchip.com/ was in Tulsa about 10 miles from me.

Re: came across a motor

Just some questions and a update.
Got the crossmember for the transmission, I found it on ebay for $65. Found a tail housing for the 700r4 that will mount to the crossmember, another ebay find. Hopefully we can start putting in the motor soon but first I have a question. I want to put in new brake lines before I put the motor and transmission in, I have new disc brakes on the front and have rebuilt the drum brakes and plan on converting them to disc at a later date. My question is what size line do I use? Also what size of fuel line should I use? I was thinking of bending them myself but not sure if I should. Please help I am kinda at a stand still.

Re: came across a motor

I used 1/8 brake line..I bought a roll of line and fittings from INLINETUBE.com.....My local Advance auto had pre-made sticks of brake line with the fittings also.....

I used Earls fittings for my fuel line, and a 3/8 High-pressure fuel hose instead of bent metal lines.....either way works just fine......

I bought the fuel line stuff at my local racing supply store....
I know Summit and Jegs carry's the stuff.....
