Re: FRANKENTRUCK gets rims!
Yo!
How about round plexiglass covers over each wheel?!! Hey, ya know those sheet plastic kits you can get for your house to cover the inside of your windows with in the winter,... Naw,...I'm gonna put the wheels on the truck and then park it in a garage,...or maybe I'll just put rubber on the wheels and park THEM in a garage! Damn, maybe I'll just bring the wheels in the house and strategically display them!! LOL!! Anyway, thanks dammitmitchell! Yeah, $500 for four wheels and caps that sell for $380 each is pretty good. As I stated SOMEWHERE in all this flail to decide on these rims, the "luxury wheels" are just gonna have to deal with the 3/4 ton 4x4! Guess I'll be washing it alot,...wow, glad I weatherproofed it first, long ago! Todd.

Yeah, not bore them out on the lathe, but lathe them. I'm going to impact gun my lug nuts off now.

Re: FRANKENTRUCK gets rims!
Yo! Y'all
Left at 0930 and got back at about 1530 today. Roadtrip to the Springs and back was uneventful,...weather perfect and traffic moderate. Made great time! Here's what I brought home: Three in their origonal boxes, the fourth was a display wheel. Two are still wrapped in the origonal factory plastic bags. Each with the MHT owner's manual and push in caps. Couldn't resist this: Gottem for about one half of the very best price I could find on the internet, and one third the average price that I found! And they've discontinued the 17" Spanks. Damn they're wide!! 8.5" x 17" Foose Spank. Now I'll have to shop for some nice rubber to cover them with! Ya think FRANKENTRUCK could sport these? Todd.

Re: FRANKENTRUCK gets rims!
I can't believe you didn't pull a wheel and mount one up. Slacker....
Yes, I think they are going to look awesome. Only thing is now the paint needs attention. Get to sanding and put a coat of John Deere flat green on FRANKIE

Re: FRANKENTRUCK gets rims!
Yo! Y'all!
Obviously, I'd need to bore a hole in the front caps, and I've measured the rear, and I don't think the caps have enough depth for the full-floating axle hubs,...so, the caps gotta go. They're just plastic push ons, and would probably rattle off or get stolen anyway. Verified the 17" x 8.5" (cast into the wheel inner), and the 6.5" bolt pattern by measuring. The center hole is slightly larger than 4.5", so that'll accomodate the front and rear hubs. I'll just have to re-paint the satin black on the hubs, and polish up the Warns. FRANKENTRUCK is going to require some bodywork, primer, and base coat/clear coat acrylic urethane in the '78 factory metallic "seafoam" green. Todd.

Re: FRANKENTRUCK gets rims!
Yeah, slackin'!
Had to do some chores and then hit the hottub after that 300 mile roadtrip! Remember, I'm old. Todd.

Re: FRANKENTRUCK gets rims!
Yeah, and damn cheap, considering what they normally sell for, and what average rims would cost! I'd be paying $125 a wheel anyway!
Todd.
