i think that combo looks gooffy on trucks on cars it looks better

It's really depends on the shape of the fender openings. If you look at 67-72 trucks they seem to look just fine with a mild drop and staggered wheel size. That's because the wheel openings are rounded.

Now look at the large rectangular shape that the 73-87's have. The front and rear wheel opening is long at it exaggerates the difference between the two sizes of wheels.

Scoti's truck still looks good no matter what...
