I wish I could tell ya about going around corners but I havent got the chance yet. I got the flat about 10 mins after I got it finished. Just my luck. I have finals right now and I am studying around the clock so it may be a few days before I have the chance to get the tire fixed. The wife was actually the one that suggested I get new tires. I was just gonna have it patched or just find a good used one. She loves this truck about as much as I do and actually put in a lot of wrench time with me.
I know all about needing motivation. Just glad I could help lol. I know I had a lot of motivation from looking at some of the rides on here.

I noticed something I thought was strange with my flip kit over the weekend. The relocater bracket on the passengers side is slid all the way forward in the "pocket" on the axle and the relocater bracket is slid all the way back on the drivers side "pocket" on the axle. Will this cause problems?
The first pic is the passengers side and the second pic is the drivers side.

You have the relocation brackets reversed on one side. If you looked at them before you installed you would see that the holes are off set.

Guess what you get to do?

I'm tempted to use those same 20" wheels on my truck. I had them on my 94 GMC that I had. My cousin has it now, and I may talk him out of them and see what they look like on mine. Hmmmmmm

Both brackets are facing the correct way. All I could come up with was that maybe one of the leaf spring packs was arched differently because of wear/age.

N2TRUX- I think I would like the bigger tire look in the back. The only problem is that my current tire is really close to rubbing the wheel well by the bed. If I run a spacer to give me more clearance will I have to get longer wheel studs?

i had the same problem with getting mine to line up also. i ended up measuring both sides and had my wife hold it in place with her feet while i cranked the u bolts down. its exactly the same on both sides now. btw i had to do it twice because i think the shocks push one side backward and the otherside frontward. so do it w/ the shocks off.

idea's for the trucks and the order of things to do are taking shape and get closer to being realized , a few more months and i be able to start building for real

i complete 2 of the trucks intoo running fashion one custom and one basicly stock the thirth will be sacrificed for parts

Just a question here?

With a flip like that I know you give up some axle travel. Has anyone done this and used some type of air lift for those times when you want to carry a load? I'd love to get the rear of my truck down but I don't want to loose my carring capacity. I'd like to do a 2/4 inch drop.

A couple of things. If you go with a 2/4 drop you don't have to do a flip kit. You can do hanger/shackle combo. If you do a flip kit you can do a c-notch, and it will let you keep your carrying capacity without many problems.

Those "problems" are what scare me. I am doing a flip, but I think I am going to fab up mounts to have helper bags for when I tow the boat. That probably means I will end up bagging my truck....Hhhhmmmmm!!!

That "C" notch is exactly what boths me! The thought of cutting my frame, then putting in the notch brackets, (with their reduced area) then using the truck to tow an enclosed car trailer gives me the hebbe jebbes. The stress of the weight and inertia that a car trailer would put on those brackets I'm afraid would fold up the frame during a quick stop. I would much prefer to do a mild drop and be able to use a an air lift device to stiffen the rear spring rate while hauling a load or pulling a trailer.

i believe gabriel makes schocks with helper bags on it that you can pump up not sure though there called "loadadjusters"

I think this is what you were refering to. http://www.a-1shocks.com/max-air-shocks/index.cfm It looks like it might be the way to go. Do a flip then use the air shocks to maintain the ride height when towing or hauling a load.

shouldve googled it it was monroe i did found out that there quite a bit thicker around so you might want to check the room you have to mount them

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I havent had time to work on anything in a while. I have had classes 10 hours a day, 7 days a week for the last month and still have about 6 weeks left of this craziness. I think Im gonna put some spacers on the back wheels and cut 1/2-1 coil off the springs to get it down to where I want it. I cant even drive it because it wont pass an emissions test, but it becomes exempt in January and I wont have to worry about it anymore.
