Nothing to big. I would like to end up with bigger tires, big fat bumpers, a few sets of kc lights, winch. So I guess the answer is yes. Something to pull the camper out and have fun truck. Something I'm not afraid to scratch up.

Got the raidiator out so I wouldn't end up with coolant all over the shop floor and moved the 4x4 in so I can start the tear down. I put it as far away from the 65 as it would go so it wouldn't get any yuck on the 65.

Thinking about it. I decided to leave the saddle bag in the 64. The only reason to do a saddle bag to the 65 would be for the room behind the seat. I'll probaly do something like that when I build up the 64 frame for the 65.

Man that's what I'm wanting to do on my 65 is put some tanks out of a 80s model truck on each side of the bed. At the risk of jacking your thread can you start a post about that install? Or post a link? I can't find any info on this site about guys installing saddle bags on a 60-66.

Haven't seen any. I think all it would be is bolt the brackets on, strap the tank down, find a place to put the filler neck. I don't know if you would have to put resistors in the gauge circut to get it to read right or not. I'll find out when I re wire the truck. I don't think it would be to hard.

Thats why it's on the opposite side of the shop from the 65. Don't want any ick to get on it.

Yep that's a good way to go. A shackle flip with some 56" springs in the rear, and some 52" springs up front and you've got a 4" lift for less $$ than a lift kit. Plus it'll likely ride better.
