Re: pics from body shop
I cant wait to get it back, i have so many parts, ideas, and mods that im going to throw at this thing as soon as i get it back. What do you guys think about putting 09 "silverado" emblems on the doors and tailgate like the new models? and putting the small gm logo on the lower fender. Im also wondering where i can find a billet bowtie for the front grill. will one from a later model fit the stock grill?

Re: pics from body shop
I like the little GM logos. But the door ones might stand out too much on there.

Re: pics from body shop
by door ones you mean the silverado badge? i was thinking of doing them both how the 09 trucks have them but i want some opinions before i drop the 75 bucks on the emblems. If not im going to have to hit up the local dealers with some floss.

Re: pics from body shop
Don't spend the money. Check local yards. (Junk yards I mean ) Or call the stealerships around you. Alot of times they pull them off of new trucks for on the lot. Or body shops may have some that they are replacing that would work well for you. It isn't like you need them all of of the same truck. They are all the same. But yes, I think the "SILVERADO" emblem would be a little much on your truck doors. But on the tailgate it might be kinda cool.

Re: pics from body shop
Looks great. Just one quick comment: be careful when you open the hood and make sure it doesn't snag that cowl panel on the left side. I imagine you'd be pretty disappointed if you scratched that up first thing.
You might want to fit that back down before you get too far: Hey, wait a minute! You took the slots out of the cowl, too! Very cool.

Re: pics from body shop
I agree with driveway dreams. It would look cool on the tailgate but not on the door. The truck looks awesome! I was looking at some emblems the other day and came across this site. It might be helpful.
http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...ems-And-Badges I was thinking of debadging my TBSS and wanted to know where I could find the mark of excellece badge.

Re: pics from body shop
Yeah keith i thought the same thing and told the shop owner yesterday, he says he was gong to start putting alot of the things back where they go and bolting everything down before they buff it, i really hope they dont put anymore scratches in it. I had him do some minor changes like the cowl, rear roof body seam & cargo light, stake holes, holes for the emblems and mirrors. I wanted subtle touches that dont stick out at you at first glance. Thank for the compliments guys.
About the emblems you may be right, so i will order one and just hold it up where i was thinking with some tape before i peel the backing off of it to get an idea what it will look like. |

Re: pics from body shop
well i finally got the truck back and put the wheels on it, Im really happy with the way it looks first thing i did was slap the wheels on and i have to say that im kind of unhappy with the way the front tires look but it may also be because the back sits a little bit lower then the front but once i cut a coil off the front spring it should be fine. I also have to start putting things back where they go along with the windows but here are some pics and i will keep you guys posted the further along i get.

Re: pics from body shop
there you go... nice and easy.
i get that feeling too but i just take a breath and think 'just focus on 1 thing at a time' and then move on to the next. usually works good... so far!
