For those guys that are curious to the advantages/disadvantages to a R&P, heres my opinion. Rack and pinion has far greater steering feel and due to the fewer parts involved has less "slop" in the steering linkage. The disadvantage other than the obvious one of no bolting up is durability. Youre alot more likely to bend something if you run a wheel into the curb on accident w/ a R&P set up.
I dont think that itd be too tough to adapt one to work with the stock suspension. Youd need to find one that the inner tie rod ends were the same distance apart as the tie rod end holes are on the stock center link. Someone mentioned using a dakota rack, sounds good as those are pretty narrow racks. |
